22  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Butterflies - made by my husband on: January 29, 2012 01:51:38 PM

Hubby works in a factory welding exhaust pipes and catalytic converters. It's not thrilling work, however on his breaks he often gets creative with spare parts and scraps.
This week he brought home 3 butterflies for my garden  Grin

23  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Big Skirts :D on: January 08, 2012 08:13:01 AM
I made these skirts last year when I wasn't using Craftster but now I'm back I want to share  Cheesy
Originally made for Tribal belly dance classes they have been finding their way into my everyday wardrobe, can't help myself I love them o much!  Roll Eyes

The purple on is poly-cotton with a poly-sating tier for the hem, I cheated and melted the edge rather than sewing a 12 metre hemline.
you can see how well it flows in my profile pic  Cheesy

The fuschia/red is made from a kingsize duvet cover  Grin Grin Grin

The navy blue is silk habatai and very very light and flowy with a 18 metre circumference to the hemline.
I've worn it for dance, for a pirate costume and to my sisters wedding. It cost about 9 to for the fabric from a local shop. I've had my monies worth already  Wink

The brown and cream is made from 2 skirts from the charity shop and the black one with the black and white panels is 3 charity shop finds made into one big gals big skirt  Grin

24  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Pantaloons/Harem pants on: January 02, 2012 12:44:42 PM
I've not been here for a long time but wanted to share the pantaloons I made for myself last year. I've made several pairs out of various fabrics, my favourites are the red and purple sari fabric and the purple with the foil print - there is 4 metres of fabric in those babies  Wink
The leopard print velour ones were a Giftmas present for my sons girlfriend. She LOVED them  Grin
The Union Jack print are for a friend.
The floral ones were made from bedding,I love using sheets and duvet covers for new clothes.

I originally made them for dance costumes but found myself wearing them as casual wear  too Smiley
25  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Holiday decorations on: January 02, 2012 12:28:39 PM
I made quite a stack of snowflakes etc to give away over the holiday period. I didn't get pics of them all but I wanted to share a few with you all.

I love working with #10 thread and a little hook  Cheesy
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Wedding hat & waistcoat on: January 02, 2012 12:03:15 PM
My sister got married the week before Christmas and as it was a church "do" I wanted a hat.
I didn't want to buy a hat of course so I sewed myself one. There's a little duct tape & hot glue to but it's mostly hand sewn. It is held on by wig clips which worked wonderfully, I danced and didn't lose my hat all night  Grin

I also made my husband a matching waistcoat. He ended up wearing something else  Roll Eyes

27  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / winter wreaths on: December 23, 2009 01:59:31 PM
I made these two winter wreath candle doiles for two family members. I love how the red one looks  Grin I also painted the candle holders with a holly leaf so they realise what the heck the hole in the middle is for  Wink

28  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Auntie Maggie's blanket on: December 05, 2009 07:58:42 AM

900g of various shades of red double knitting yarn, 5mm hook and 3 months of work (and procrastination!) I have finally finished the blanket that my Auntie asked my Mum to ask me to make for her  Roll Eyes
I tried ELEVEN different patterns before just going with the flow and making this one. It is front post & back post double crochet stitches. It is lovely and thick and warm - which is what she needs for when she is riding through the park on her mobility scooter  Smiley I get to give it to Auntie Maggie at the Xmas party tomorrow  Grin just finished in the nick of time!
29  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Snowman gift bag on: November 27, 2009 02:04:17 PM
a little snowman gift bag, pattern from Crochet World  Smiley
good for using up leftovers as it really doesn't take much yarn at all. One thing I would do differently if I was to make it again is to add the face before continuing from his head to his hat, it was a bee eye itch to sew the buttons on with my big clumsy hands and his small hat hole  Cheesy Roll Eyes

30  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... on: November 25, 2009 03:26:26 PM
...or it will for my friend Ann when she gets this in the mail next week  Grin

the original pattern was much longer but I just made this 24" long by 16" wide. #10 white thread with a 1.5mm hook, pattern from Crochet World Christmas Jubilee  Smiley
