1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tutorial...kind of...for making resin pendants with butterflies inside... on: January 13, 2009 12:28:16 PM
Hi  Smiley

I'm a little late in the game here - but I love all of the pieces in this post.  And thanks so much for the tute!  I've been working with resin on and off for about a year and was wondering - how do you get yours to not have the small bubbles in it?  I use EasyCast and mix according to the directions, but I still get small bubbles.  The only difference I see between the instructions and your tute is that they tell you to mix for 2 minutes, pour into another mixing container and then mix again.

Do you do this, or just mix once for 2 minutes?  Is it possible that in my attempt to mix and NOT create bubbles that I'm doing more damage and it's not mixing right?

Also, every now and then I pour a piece and after a few hours a huge bubble appears - maybe I need to mix with a little more pep?

Thanks for all of your great ideas!

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing with Vinyl... on: July 29, 2008 07:44:25 PM
I sew on vinyl a lot.  It is pretty tricky.

The best thing I've found is to use medical tape on the presser foot.  I cover it in 2 sections.

The other thing to try that I've heard works, but haven't invested in is a walking foot used for quilting.

Good luck!  Smiley

Awesome job!  Smiley

I've been trying to make one of these - maybe someone can help.  I get everything all sewn together, but when I get to the final 3 seams (toshape it like a box) it's too big to fit in my machine - any suggestions?
