41  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Halloween table runner on: October 26, 2006 12:25:14 PM
I just created this off the top of my head and made it up in under 50 minutes. I sewed black fringe on the ends, then made a spider for the centre piece with a stuffed body & head and legs that pop up. Unfortunately i can see it being mauled by my cats(see paws in pic), so it will only be on the table when supervised. This is my first try at a table runner too.  Comments would be greatly be appreciated. Smiley

42  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Various patterned stockings! on: October 15, 2006 05:23:11 PM
Well I just started making stockings using my own styles. I generally like to do exotic print stockings. They aren't pressed yet so some look abit funky shaped, lol. Smiley

43  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / 8 hard plastic vhs cases and plastic jugs on: October 05, 2006 11:10:57 PM
I have 8 of these VHS cases they're hard plastic and fairly stiff(not the flimsy regular plastic ones) . I also have 2 large plastic jugs with lids that did hold cat litter.
Any idea for these? Maybe cut them up and use as support lining for something, make ornaments some how,...? I have no idea.
44  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Creative(and fun) Name swap idea on: September 22, 2006 11:55:30 AM
You know when you use all the letters in a person's name(we'll use your real name, not screen) to spell different words or topics? Well use those topics to create your crafts for them! Then the swap partner could try and guess the themes created about them.

Example:
L - laughter(make/do comics) or love(romantic/heart theme)
A - apples, alligator, or angel themes
U - uranus(the planet Tongue), unicorns....
R - racing, red wine, rosettes ...
A - ancestors, antelopes, anatomy...

Or cheat and use a dictionary site to think of words.
I think this could be really fun. Comments???
45  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / New animal print pillow(my 1st pillow!) on: September 21, 2006 10:14:30 PM
Well this is my first pillow attempt and i think it's nice enough to be displayed(unlike some of my other items). I sewed black ribbon on the front as well as around the inside of the border, but it's harder to see that.
Hope you like and comments good or bad are welcome!

46  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / First timers swap on: September 21, 2006 09:46:40 PM
How about a swap only for those who haven't done a swap yet, so this would be a swap for first timers and good way build your feedback and introduce yourself to the swapping community. I see alot of swaps say you can't participate unless you've done 2 other swaps, so this would help get them there.
Just an idea since I'm in this catagory and dying to try a swap.  Wink

Sorry if this has been suggested before.
47  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / First applique on: September 11, 2006 08:34:27 PM
Well i got this sweater for free b/c it had a broken zipper but i also don't have "K" anywhere in my name so i knew this would be a project. I decided to add a felt heart(with the machine it was tricky ), added the buttons then sewed her up part way. I think she turned out okey dokey....

48  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bum ugly shorts to flirty skirt!! on: September 08, 2006 11:57:54 AM
This is my first skirt attempt and i really like it. Its fun to twirl and oh so comfy. The shorts are a womens large or XL that my mom got for free and wouldn't dare wear them herself. I used grey jersey knit(looks khaki aggainst the blue) i previously had and VOILA!
Tell me good or bad what cha think.

49  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dog coat for my Lab on: August 19, 2006 09:14:04 PM
Well our family black Lab is part husky and alittle heavy so no store bought coats fit her, not too mention larges never do fit large dogs. So i made our family dog a coat specific for her. Inside is flleece, outside flannel pj pants, secured by velcro. Got the pattern idea from link below, but i really didn't use too much of it and i added an extra stomach strap because her bare tummy gets cold the most. : http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.com/clothinginstructions.html
Enjoy!

50  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / First recon: Baggy blouse to cute top with added flower :D on: August 18, 2006 08:13:26 PM
Well i found this blouse made out of beautiful material at a thrift store but it had 2 buttons missing and was very baggy and out of date so I made it into something wearable. I also made a flower attachment on the right shoulder with a button for the centre.
Opinons and comments wanted since this is my first recon. Keep up the creativity guys!! *love*
