mad gypsy, now that eyeball idea is an excellent one. i have been meaning to get a book or two on polymer clay, but I hate buying craft books without being able to flick through them first to get an idea of their scope.Sadly the bookshops dont go a bundle on craft books on this side of the pond

MadGypsy that is great. I would never have thought of doing it that way. I start with a ball of clay and mould the features by pushing and pulling the clay, adding a few pieces here and there, but that is obviously why it always gets too squishy on me!

I have had lots of flat rate boxes and envelopes from the US..to ireland. And sent one when I was over there last year, they are not cheap, but trust me its still a lot cheaper than we can send from here, the biggest flat rate sized box, packed full, from ireland to the US would cost well over $100 to mail. The cheapest box up to 2lbs weight is about $40, which is why all my swap partners get things in tough envelopes with plenty of bubble wrap! (we dont have any flat rate here at all, everything is by weight)

madGypsy I would be interested in any tips you have for modelling faces. The ones I did drove me nuts. I am using flesh coloured fimo, but think that it may just be too soft, it kept distorting on me. Your yeti is fab!

you could use some of that gorgeous fabric and your new sewing skills, make her a purse and embroider something on it with some of that fabulous thread....lol..of course its not a surprise any more...or maybe an apron, place mats, table runner, (all easy for beginner sewing!) basic embroidery stitches are easy too.

and are you going to donate it? I wouldn't, not in a million years, if I had made something as wondrous as that, I wouldn't let it out of my sight!
