1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Disney Rd. 8 CLOSED send by Sept 2nd on: August 27, 2008 08:25:47 PM
I've been so terrible about posting.  Ugh.  It's been difficult to do anything other than run and go to work.  I still need to post pictures of what I received--but I'll be ready to send in just a few days.  Woohoo!

Oh...MissDisney knows me too well.  I did receive, but it's been a couple of trying days.  I love everything and I will post pictures soon.  Do we have a gallery...lol  I can't remember if one was started.

I've crocheted a ton of beanies for my husband--who is still my husband.  That count?

I used to be better about getting on craftster--until they put in a web blocker at work, and it blocks craftster!  I get a lot of my crafting done at my son's sporting events--baseball takes up a lot of our time and I spend a lot of time just sitting.  I also like to crochet while I'm on the stationary bike--seems to make the time go by faster.  Nothing better than crochet, The Daily Show, and exercising!

And dear, darling MissDisney--thank you for organizing.  The last time I organized, I thought my head would explode--I swear I'd forgotten how much work it is!

Thank you for all of the compliments on the tattoo.  I so love it.  It's a little stingy today, but not too bad.

My partner is a very fast crafter.  lol  I'm sure I'll be ready to send by the deadline--I finally have things falling into place with what I want to do.  Sometimes the brain just doesn't want to work!  Smiley

Okay...I sat with my leg at a weird angle for this:

I think my husband did a beautiful job with this.  My leg is a bit sore, and it hurt like hell in a few places, but I completely love it.  Just wanted to share!!!

Yes, my husband is a full-time tattoo artist!  Smiley  I love it.  After the WDW Half in Jan, I'll be having him do Donald running on me, and then, after I get in better shape, I'll have him do a half sleeve with Disney stuff.  After my first tattoo, I didn't think I'd do it again, but I had him do one on the back of my neck, and now, I'm itching for a few more.  What the heck.

Oh, the other day, I was looking at the WDW Career Opportunities page, and WOW the pay is very low!  I really hope that there is something that makes up for low starting pay--like maybe good raises?  I mean, almost everyone I've ever run into in one of the parks has been super nice--I'd be hard pressed to be super nice for $7.25 an hour!  Especially when it's 100 degrees and 100% humidity.  LOL  Oh, what I wanted to ask was, they refer to the "tattoo policy", but I couldn't find any information on what exactly their policy is.  Is it just that the tattoos have to be covered?

I'm constantly reading the review of restaurants on Allearsnet and I've read mixed reviews about Yak and Yeti.  I'm sure we'll do what we did last time and just eat at Flametree BBQ--we really liked it.

I have fun news--I decided on a Mickey and Minnie tattoo--I found an old deck of playing cards in my parent's basement with old-school Mickey and Minnie holding hands on the back, so next Tuesday, my husband will be putting a needle to my skin.  I'm quite excited about this one.  After that, I'll have him do a Kermit playing Banjo on my other leg.  I can't wait.

Do you mean you have to spend thousands of dollars for it to be magical or if it wasn't so expensive then you'd have a bunch of ghetto people there? Everything is so expensive because of how many people it takes to work there to make it magical, all the food that has to be cooked, the rides, maintenance, etc. I highly doubt they could make it any cheaper to go without losing money or breaking even.

I know that having to save up thousands of dollars makes me appreciate it a lot more.  It also makes me appreciate all of the times my parents took us there.  I feel like a trip there is worth every penny we use- -it is worth it to sacrafice all year to spend a week there.  Frankly, I'm a little offended by the phrase "ghetto people".  What exactly does that mean?  My family could look "ghetto" to others--my husband is covered with tattoos and I'm most comfortable walking around the parks in my yoga pants and flip-flops.  I think it's really best to keep away from sterotyping the "types" of people that the cost might keep out.
