I've recieved from alwaysinmyroom and from Riechan!! Thankyou girls so much! Both birthday packages were lovely and so perfect for me (you both must've done some serious wist-stalking!!)

From alwaysinmyroom

A lovely bag, grey corduroy, appliqued with 2 of my favourite things in all the world...

...and trees!

inside, it's the perfect size and easily fits in all my work stuff. Just having it by my desk today makes me smile!!! I keep turning it to see either side - can't decide on a favourite yet.

And look at all the beautiful extras...

a lovely notepad,

boygirlparty stationery (a shared favourite artist of mine and alwaysinmyroom's - check her out here http://boygirlparty.com Aren't they beautiful!

scrapping papers, mostly double sided, with lovely fun patterns,

... and a birthday pencil!!

From Riechan

A beautiful business card holder. Really fun pattern, and my cards are a creamy-brown, so they look all colour-coordinated and lovely!

Isn't it cool?

Riechan also sent me these wrist supports, for keyboard and mouse in the office! The fabric is a really subtle, beautiful pattern, with floral swirls kind-of woven into the fabric. So lovely, really comfy too. (Currently using them as I type!)

Edited to add; Yes, I do have a pic of the birdie jewellery I sent Nancy, will upload it this eve when I get back from work. Smiley

13  Re: Junk Jewelry Necklace/Bracelet, Round 2 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by uluru on: November 18, 2009 05:32:50 AM
I recieved from Peroxym - look at this beauty!!!

The colour is perfect. I was already wearing the green top (and wear loads of green!) so it will go perfectly with so many clothes. I love how unique it is, but also smart enough for office-wear! It came with some lovely stories, too!

Thanks Peroxsym!

I've recieved today from Ladycatns. Be prepared to be very jealous of all my goodies!!!

Look at it all! That's a veritable mountain right there!!!

Now onto small pictures... (there's just so much to see!)

Lovely real shells, all ready drilled to become part of some lovely beachy jewellery projects! Can't wait to start playing with these!

An abundance of gorgeous silvery gems and findings! Do you see those lovely butterflies? So pretty!

Gold tone gems, including some lovely delicate cage-like beads and those beautiful gold leaves - the trees are just turning over here, and I can imagine some lovely autumnal pieces using these.

A selection of lovely doughnut beads. Never used these  before - I'm excited to try them out!

Gorgeous focal beads and pendants, including that adorable little seahorse - isn't he cute!

A pack of black rainbow-oil-sheen seed beads. So pretty in the light!

Various pinky-purpley-red toned beads, including that gorgeous butterfly!

Gorgeous stripey and millefiori glass beads, and some beautiful (wooden?) painted shell beads.

A selection of green toned beads, mostly glass.

White-ish beads. I love the pearly ones - they are a lovely pale blue.

Black beads - including some gorgeous wire wrapped ones, and that cute little dice bead.

Brown and orange toned goodies - will probably find their way into some awesome autumn wonderment with those gold leaves!

Blue tones - isn't that striped one in the center gorgeous?

An assortment of tube beads and other little extras. Some great colours in this mix!

Various stringing materials... really useful!

Some gorgeous gemstones - and the box that identifies them. So lovely!

And ladycatns crafted goodies for me too... heart necklace, 4 pairs of earrings, and a beautiful beaded scarf (me and mum are arguing about who gets to keep the scart - she really wants it!).

Thanks so much, Ladycatns!

Aargh! I missed out some lovely owly earrings from Tero. I put them on as soon as I opened the package (they are just so cute) and forgot about them!

Sorry for the poor photo, they are much more detailed in real life, with little faces and feathers!

I've recieved my gorgeous soup from Tero... here it is!

Some lovely bookmarks... I have never seen such pretty shapes over here in the UK - they are gorgeous and so unusual! The middle one is a chinese dragon!

Next...isn't he cute?!... a little tinkly owl bell!

Domino pendants! Again, I have never seen these over here, can't wait to get stuck in crafting with the blank ones she's sent!

Multicoloured glass seed beads and larger round beads, and a set of mixed blue and gold glass beads. So many, and such beautiful colours!

Next...my favourite bead... be prepared to squeal in delight...

Aaah!!! A little hedgehog. Isn't he so adorable! Those little feet!!!

Not sure what these beads are made of, but they shine so beautifully. They remind me of chilli pepper shapes, and the colour is like beetle shells. I am so intrigued to know how these are made!

And next... a HUGE bag of clear, silver lined seed beads! They shine so beautifully, and I'm always running out of clear toned beads, so they will definately come in handy!

This ceramic celtic knot bead is so cute - I love the colours, and it has a really satisfying weight to it!

Lovely headpins! Our local bead shop has only flat, pin ends, so these are so welcome! They remind me of tiny jellies or trifles!

And look at all these gorgeous charms, owls, celestial, flowers, and a sewing machine! So cute!

Lots of lovely earring findings - beautifully detailed and so unusual! Can't wait to get stuck in playing with these!

Look at ALL these glass beads! I love them! So many beautiful colours!

These three are my favourites - little conjoined twin beads!

And some lovely clay beads. Did you make these, Tero? They're beautiful! Especially that rose!

Three lovely wire wrapped glass beads. The wrapping is so neat!

Sterling silver earwires - another difficult thing to get round here, and so useful for sensitive-eared friends and swap partners.

Crafted items

Gorgeous painted ceramic bead earrings - these are so cute and the colour is lovely!

And this cloud necklace. Wire wrapped with glass "raindrops".  Tero thought she'd seen this on my wists, but I don't remember seeing it. But it suits my taste so well - I have a bit of a thing for clouds (it was one of my themes in the pick and choose swap) and this one is so cute! I love the little cow-lick curl! Off out this evening wearing it!

Thanks so much Tero, you're an amazing swap partner! I love your soup!

Edited to Add: Went into the study to upload pics, and when I came back, look who'd been investigating my soup!!

I have recieved!!! Mum forgot to tell me about the parcel, so I opened it as I was getting ready for bed... couldn't sleep for ages because I was looking over every single item! Look at ALL these beautiful goodies from MiLady! So much lovely stuff!

The first packet I opened - a lovely, appliqued, fleecy car blanket. So gorgeous! And really snuggly!

A close-up on the applique tree... isn't it neat...I can't get over all those tiny stitches- I really love all the detail!

('Scuse the PJ bottoms!) This is a gorgeous stencilled T-shirt-  look how well it fits me! And how beautiful is the design! A lovely, baby deer... so cute!

Gorgeous pearl and crystal beaded bracelets! They look great.

...and the bracelets on the back cover of the next item...

Cloud themed mini felt book... so cute! I'm in awe of your applique slillls. Pretty sure it's a needle book, but if you're outraged at the thought of me stabbing your handiwork, let me know. If it is a needlebook, I have needed somewhere to keep ym needles for ages... I keep using my boyfriends duvet as a pincushion, and he's very unimpressed!

Inside cover of the book... the cloud is glittery!!!

A gorgeous set of magnets... butterflies, a jewel-encrusted fairy, and a tree. I love the "artsyness" of these! So cool!

A lovely, butterfly themed, crochet beret. Isn't it cool!

...and matching mittens! Both the hat and mittens fit so well... see...

An absolutely beautiful, perfect, and gorgeous set of crochet handwarmers! I am wearing them at work today (too much typing makes my hands freeze) and they are lovely and warm, and the air vents (!) mean my hands don't get all sticky! And I don't have to wear full-on-gloves in August and feel like an idiot in the office! These will get so much use!! I adore them! And even my geeky office-mate, a hardcore, never-leaves-the-office programmer, complimented me on them. He coudn't believe MiLady had MADE them. To be honest neither can I... they are just so pretty!
...and look how well they fit! (Again, scuse the PJ's! This and the mittens photo were taken by having the camera on timer in my mouth!!)

And finally (didn't she send LOADS!) these beautiful butterfly earrings, which I'm also wearing today. So cute!

Thankyou so much, MiLady. Everything is so perfect! You couldn't have been a better swap partner! (...and I am going to have such a hard job matching up to that lot with your package!)

I have recieved from Becs88!!

Everything all together! Look at the beautiful sparkly branches, and the lovely clay necklaces.

This was the first thing I saw when I opened the package. It's a gorgeous, jewel and pearl encrusted, tree branch, to hang from my car mirror. I've just got a new car, and it's not very "me" yet, so this is amazing! So pretty and girly and... just perfect! Becs, I have no idea how on earth you made this, but thank you so much!

It came with a matching phone charm too! So cute!

Next... a very ugly photo of me wearing a very lovely necklace. This gorgeous little guy is varnished white clay, and sits so nicely on my neck... it's really beautiful!

And finally, I think this one is my favourite, a gorgeous, varnished white clay tile with a sparrow on (stamped or painted I think). I'm wearing it at work today and every single person at work has complimented me on it (and they're very dissapointed that they can't go out and buy one... its mine, all mine!!!)

Thankyou Becs, you're an amazing swap partner, and have gone over and above anything I could have hoped for!
(And to everyone else... aren't I the luckiest one? You're allowed to be very jealous!)

20  Peruvian String art pendant and matching earrings. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by uluru on: July 30, 2009 03:51:11 PM
So, I saw this string art as a pair of earrings in a shop. I fell in love with the intricate patterns, the geekery maths, and just the general prettyness. However, they were quite expensive, and rather larger than I can get away with earrings, so I thought... why not try crafting!
I think the traditional peruvian art is done using a coil wrapped around some wire, but I was lazy and used beads instead!

So... onto the pics! Please excuse the terrible webcam quality.

I've moved the earrings down to the chain here, so you can see how they match. I've used the same beads as on the pendant frame, and wrapped them around a larger brown pearl bead. They are on kidney wires.

This is the best picture I could get of the pendant. The string I used was a khaki green, dark turquoise, and a plummy purple.

So... what do you think?
