181  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Child-sized Cutlery Roll up with Matching Napkin on: July 25, 2010 02:07:32 PM
My mom's been carrying around a set of mini cutlery in a zipper baggy that's gotten pretty nasty bouncing around in her purse. I thought I could figure out something better.
A lovely craftsterer sent me this piece of fabric in a swap and it was Just what I wanted for this, how perfect.

Here it is open with cutlery and it's matching napkin.

The finished roll up.

I was showing it to our friend this morning at breakfast and my girl told me "No mommy! No take my na'kin 'way!" I guess she likes it Cheesy.

182  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Photo Tutorial! on: July 24, 2010 07:58:44 PM
I wonder if there is one somewhere or a link to one in some part of the how to swap pages? I have dial up so it's hard for me to look through everything to check but I wanted to mention this. In fact, it would be kind of a good thing to have in the tips area in general. I love looking at people's pics and I'm sure we all try our best to take good ones but it doesn't always happen, especially with close ups. Any digital camera can take a macro shot but I had mine for 2 years at least before I figured out how to do it. Or how to light things. I used to take cruddy pics, they aren't perfect now but fairly decent at least.
Just a thought, might be a helpful thing...
183  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / OOPS! Horribly inappropriate stuffy I nearly made for my daughter. on: July 24, 2010 05:11:59 PM
EmbarrassedI had a scrap of bubble gum pink fun fur left including the discarded tail of another creature I'd made and I thought I'd sew up a little fluffy pink heart wand for my daughter. So I cut out a heart, did up a sweet face on it and stuck the tail/handle into the bottom. Um... no, that's not right... Looks like a... uh... well, you tell me. Imagine it upside down.

Yah. Not quite the thing I want her running around the house gripped tightly in her hand, wapping people over the head to grant their wishes Tongue.

Here's the final product. Much, much better. For a little girl at least Cheesy.
184  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Open in "new tab" or "new window" option? on: July 24, 2010 11:32:11 AM
When I click on a link to another Craftster thread within a thread it opens up a new window instead of a new tab in the window I am currently using. What am I doing wrong?
185  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / A whole load of stuff, charm bracelets, necklaces, earrings, the Works! on: July 12, 2010 05:13:08 PM
I don't have good internet at home so here I am with a ton of jewelry projects I've never posted and I figure I might as well just stick them all together in one post so here goes...

Loaded charm bracelet

Teeny tiny little flower and seed bead earrings

Turtles

Owls

Made for a Wonderland swap. It's very similar to something I saw online

And this was for a sock monkey swap as an extra
186  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little girls dresses from my old tshirts. on: July 11, 2010 05:07:33 PM
Ugh, my dresser was overflowing with clothes I just don't wear anymore but are too cute to do away with so what to do what to do? Eh, cut 'em down to size and stick 'em on my little monkey.
There used to be a ton of pics in here but recently I decided not to post images of my kids online in the interest of preserving a bit of future privacy for them. Something that will be in short supply by the time they are teenagers I think.

189  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Clothes Pin People! Crafting with kids... on: July 11, 2010 02:20:56 PM
My 9 year old brought down some paint and clothes pins from his art stash the other day to have a little fun with his 3 year old sister (all on his own too, what a sweety!) and I just couldn't resist jumping in. We had a BLAST painting these and sticking on their eyes and hair, what a totally fun craft.
