11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap -- June 2017 Gallery! on: June 21, 2017 10:38:51 AM
I have a little catching up to do here...

I really like that watercolour night sky. I wouldn't have thought to combine those colours like that, and that is my hang up with painting I guess. I admire the bravery that goes into that craft.

The gnome with his pet snail is too cute, it's so fun that he looks shiny!

Ack, I do not like zombies but I do like sheep. I am so conflicted! ... still cute. The curly hair is great.

The poofy haired guy and his doppleganger are cool, neat layers and letters.

The witches are too good, those eyebrows! Remind of the Munchkins in OZ.

I really like La Corona, the background distressing works so beautifully with the gorgeous, sparkly crown.

Ok, La Dama is excellent. Movable, magazine collage, rickrack, and label maker tape. That's a lot of awesome right there.

I don't know Daryl Dixon but great job giving the impression of a fellow who has lived a hard life. He looks tough and grizzly.

The fabric feather is so lovely, beautiful pairing of satin, gold lace, beads, and fray.

The birds in blue wearing hats are super cute. That chicken's face is hysterical! But maybe I just find chickens funny, I dunno.

Envy and Wrath don't look like much fun to run into, yikes!

I just got back from the thrift store. That's all I am gonna say, y'all just use your imagination here, lol.

15  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Eat your fruits and veggies! on: June 21, 2017 10:14:37 AM
Thanks! The berries were easy enough. A tiny blue ball finished with 4 picot stitches for the bluets, the raspberries I stitched both from the bottom to top then top to bottom to see which I liked better. It found it best to do a chain of about 7 single crochet stitches, slip stitch to form a circle, then single crochet but around the chain rather than through the loops to give that nice finished looking edge. Then I did single crochet alternating front loop only with back loop only and also 2 stitches at a time to reduce and close the circle. That sounds like a lot of steps but really they were pretty quick.

I found one today at the thrift shop, now to stitch up the gingham fabric I bought and put it all together. I'm so excited to give it to her!

I've made a few more things for my daughter's bday present this month. A handful of berries, a broccoli (learned a new stitch, bobble! PITA lol), a mini pumpkin, and a wedge of watermelon (this one gave me the most trouble).

Awesome. I'm so glad that idea is well received. I am looking forward to choosing the lonely hearts on your lists Smiley.

I just use the two layers as well, with the appliqu it's stiff enough.

I got started today and am almost finished now. Just one more then the edges, I will likely finish tonight and send this week. They are totally different from the last ones, how fun this craft is!

Hey peeps, as I peruse your lists I sometimes wish there was a way to know which items have never been chosen before. I know I love all the stuff on my list and am sure you all only keep things you'd like to receive but it would be fun to send something that has never sparked inspiration before. Is anybody interested in marking, like with an asterisk or some such, the things they've never had sent to them? I confess, I would be tempted by every * I see Wink.
