2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Soap Cutting Devices on: June 28, 2017 03:21:10 PM
A pastry scraper is a nice, sturdy straight edge with a good handle for applying steady pressure. You can get crinkle kitchen cutters too, they are for slicing potatoes and the like so surely strong enough for soap. You can keep either for use in the kitchen afterwards, I have found many uses for our pastry scraper over the years.
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Craftster Trading Card Swap #2 - GALLERY on: June 28, 2017 03:18:11 PM
For our winter holiday card last year I was hoping to alter a summer family shot of us and add elf hats, ugly sweaters, etc. I didn't have the time (we send about 80 cards so it's already a lot of time!) but I would still love to do it. Holiday magazines have so much fun stuff to collage with and I've found a love of brushing mod podge over everything paper Cheesy.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Sweet treats for my sweetie on: June 28, 2017 10:23:59 AM
Thanks guys Smiley. The swirly frosting was a bit of a pain. It's worked in rows of single crochet, the stitch that takes the longest, ugh. You increase on one side and decrease on the other at the end and start of each row so you end up with a parallelogram, worked in back loop only for the ridges. It wasn't difficult, just time consuming.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Crafting for ME along! on: June 28, 2017 06:51:22 AM
I am going to visit a tardis loving friend & want to bring a gift. Nice as that is, I'm not sure he'd appreciate a purse Cheesy.

The thing I've done for myself lately is kitchen based. I made a huge whack of juice & lot of broth for a fast. I'm on the final day, day 7, & have lost a dozen lbs already. Mostly I did it to help kick coffee, wine & late night snacking but bonus benefits of shedding the winter weight, woo hoo!

6  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: ** Report Questionable Ads Here ** on: June 28, 2017 06:21:14 AM
Me too. The past few days the ads are different every time. I don't mean different ads (they are) I mean how they appear. The other day I couldn't look at anything on my phone, the ad would jump around to block whatever I tried to center on the screen. Now it's just a teeny tiny one that is hard to get to stay in one place to hit the X.

Wow, what an amazing job you've done! The girl and I are going to have to seriously think about more DIY doll house furniture. Thanks for the inspiration!

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Sweet treats for my sweetie on: June 28, 2017 06:09:12 AM
We are really busy getting ready for summer stuff coming up next week and I'm wrapping up a swap but that hasn't stopped me from continuing to crochet at every chance I get!

A couple more strawberries, no pattern

A slice of cheese I made previously curled up and reminded me of a canoli so I made another in tan. When I stitched in the cream it ruined all the curvy edges so they are only tucked into the canoli and can be removed to put on other food. My daughter's had the bright idea that she can use the canoli shell for a veggie wrap with all those lovely vegetables I made her previously. Clever monkey!

I sort of followed the cupcake wrapper pattern here:

And Twinkie Chan's frosting "recipe" here:
(pretty long video, I skipped to the part I wanted).

The frosting didn't look right on the cupcake I made so I tried another frilly sort of topping with a cherry and saved this one for a pancake.

For an ice cream cone I looked over this pattern here but didn't follow it exactly:

LOL, those are great and so perfect for you. What a fun craft this is, just when I think it can't get any better...
