I know exactly how this feels. I handmade, well, almost all of my gifts last year and the fam was not that impressed. My little sister is kinda punk/kinda emo though and she loved it. So I am only crafting for her this year. Well, and my mom asked for an apron, so I am making that as well.
I got really sad because I worked HOURS to put together a calendar for my mom last year and she didn't even use it.
And my other sister is a teacher so I made her a totally fun and reversible tote bag (stylish, if I must say so myself) and she was ok with it, but I think she might have liked it better if it were green.
I tried to include presents with my handmade gifts that weren't handmade, just to balance it out. Like, I got my sister some children's books to go in her tote bag and they were wrapped together. I got my dad some nice leather gloves to go with his scarf . . . etc.
In other words, cheer up! You just need to craft for crafty people. They appreciate the thought and effort so much more and they will gush over it for sure! Try doing a swap on craftster to get your creativity gushed over!
