1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Winter Scarf-a-long! on: December 07, 2009 06:40:49 AM
Hey all,

You working on a scarf at the moment, or looking to start one? Let's knit together!

Right now I just cast on the infamous Liesel Scarf (with Cascade 220), and helping my roommate with her first knitting project which is the Scrunchable Scarf (with a Japanese brand called Dia Amenity - I did a Ravelry search on the yarn and it wasn't there. Huh )

Yeah I would attach a braided string or something of the sort to the flap's corners and put a pom-pom on those.

Tottemo kawaii! Dai suki!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Amelia Earhart hat :) on: November 21, 2009 08:42:52 AM
Hi there,

Ever since moving to Japan I've either not had my needles or money for yarn and recently re-picked up knitting. My first project was the Amelia Earhart hat. I've been debating whether or not to add dangling pom-poms, what do you think?

Also, catch me on my Ravelry account now that I've been back and using it. Tongue
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Awesome fabric, and no clue what to do with it. on: June 20, 2008 11:07:47 PM
Thanks for that link! It's ironic though, seeing how I'm studying abroad in Tokyo this fall. haha!

The fabric was a little too small to make a decent sized bag, but I got the idea to tie one of my sarongs I never use, but love the print, into one of these and it worked wonderfully! It's going to be my new summer tote!

So i have this awesome fabric:

It's actually a scarf or something. I got it at an awesome second hand store for $3. I put a copy of the economist in front to give you guys an idea of the size.

I LOVE this fabric, so I'm being quite hesitant with what to do with it. Any ideas?

I would like a copy! Please! My passport needs a cover badly. I'm kinda brutal on such documentation.  Roll Eyes
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Brocade dress on: January 16, 2008 09:38:30 PM
I have that pattern! I was going to adapt it for my prom dress (my ex ended up leaving me for my friend and going with her, so I worked instead). I'm so excited it looks sooo pretty in person. Now I have incentive to make it just for the girly pretty-ness factor.

nice choice in fabric too!

Great job! I really like your skirts.

I made a bag out of the fabric you used for your 1st skirt once! haha. It's a pretty awesome fabric.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you store your stash & supplies in? on: December 29, 2007 02:15:02 AM
I have a really nice durable indonesian brocade needle holder that my mom got for my b-day last year and a big wicker laundry basket that I put my yarn in. I'm one of the people who don't have a TON of yarn. I usually only buy yarn when I'm going to get yarn for a specific pattern, and then I usually buy to little so I go back and get just enough so I'm not left with random balls. That, and I refuse to hoard it since I may be moving into dorms therefore, I won't have much room. I'm a major stashbuster.
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Drops 103-1 Jacket knitalong on: December 29, 2007 12:57:33 AM
I'm thinking of starting this for my first jacket/sweater type project. I have 7 skeins of Cascade 220 100% wool since I bought the pack off my friend who works at Cascade for cheap. And, I didn't want to drop a lot of money on yarn for my first jacket. If I really like it, I'll redo it in really nice yarn, maybe. :] Will this yarn be good?
