Totally random question, but do you have a book?  I saw a book at B&N with art really similar to your jewelry!
23  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Your Fiber Stash on: November 27, 2007 10:32:58 PM
I enjoy looking at the wonderful yarns that the spinners spin on here, though I'm not a fiber person, but are those real life Cacoons???  Cooooool.  How do you work them?

Yup, they're real cocoons from silkworms.  You have to boil them in soapy water for a few minutes, and then they lose their shape and soften up into fiber.  After you wash out the soap, you can card them and spin them up!
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Don't You Love it When People Say... on: November 27, 2007 04:26:33 PM
Mine involves a boy...Wink

One time, I was knitting some socks and he came to talk to me. He was like, "You knit?" I said, "Yep!" He goes, "What are you making?" I was like, "Socks" He goes, "You knit socks?! That is SO cool!"

And one time, I was telling a story of how the socks I was knitting at the time got hit by a car (it's an epic story!) and the looks on his face were awesome. Like he was genuinely concerned about my socks! He was all like, "OH NO!" as I was telling the story, but once I got to the happy ending, he was smiling. He loves my knitting more than I do!

Seriously, I love guys.  They get so excited about needles and string.  I've been proclaimed "badass" multiple times.

This is the first time I've ever had a stash!  I went to a needlecraft convention last weekend and picked up some pretty fiber to work with.

1 oz Colonial top in Slate  (I love this stuff, so soft, so nice, and easy to spin!)

1 oz Colonial top in Koala

30 silk cocoons (about 1/2 oz)

"Mystery Roving" I ordered from ebay ages ago.  Can't remember what it is, any help identifying it would be great!

So show me your beautiful stash of fiber!

Thank you!

I always thought I wouldn't look good with short hair, until one day I randomly cut it.  Now I look back at pictures of myself with long hair and say to myself, "WTF was I thinking?"  So the moral of the story is you never know what will look good until you try it!  And if it comes out funny-looking, hair always grows back  Smiley

A friend of mine thinks knitting and spinning are the two most "hardcore" things he's ever seen.  I love this guy  Wink

Also, another friend of mine introduced me to her mother as, "This is J.  She knits her own socks!"

From my boyfriend, after I told him I'm processing and spinning my own silk cocoons:  "That's incredible.  Wait, no, coming from you, it's totally credible."

Yup, they're from Graffiti.  I have a 6x8 Digipro tablet, best $60 I ever spent!  I like to draw for my friends  Smiley

I've been experimenting with shorter hair lately, tonight I decided it was time for another cut...

It's long on top, short on the sides/back.  Sort of a really wide mohawk.

Now, my problem is, since I had red hair with brown roots, I cut off the red on the sides.  So I'm kind of unintentionally two-toned.  But there's not much I can do about that at two in the morning, so I can just claim it's orange and brown for Thanksgiving.   Wink

This is the first time I've seen my natural color in about eight years!  I kind of forgot what it looked like...
