1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Re: COSPLAY HELP--PATTERN IDEAS on: August 19, 2010 10:36:50 AM
Have you looked through Simplicity's costumes patterns?

They have a lot of patterns that might work with some alteration.

I searched the cosplay.com forum but didn't come up with any threads on this costume.

Good luck!

I love this! Great job!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: leather working? on: January 11, 2010 07:09:06 AM
I'm also interested in this subject, so I searched hard for links.
I searched for leather tutorial on crafster and came up with some projects.

If you have a well stocked library nearby, maybe they have some books/videos on leatherworking. The library I go to can order books from around the country too. A friend of mine is going to take leatherwork classes in college. I've heard of vo-techs and community colleges having classes too.

Ehow has some videos on learning leatherworking http://www.ehow.com/topic_977_learn-leatherworking.html

Here are some more links I found:

Leather Working Tips http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/LeatherS.htm

I found the link above at this site that has 61 links on instruction alone http://www.iilg.net/links/pages/Reference/

Leather carving and stamping tutorials http://www.onestopcandle.com/leather/leatherinstr.php

Youtube also has some videos, most are from expertvillage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPMZuWlke_0

Instructables also has some leather tutorials, most are basic http://www.instructables.com/tag/?q=leather&limit%3Atype%3Aid=on&type%3Aid=on&type%3Auser=on&type%3Acomment=on&type%3Agroup=on&type%3AforumTopic=on&type%3AforumTopic=on&sort=none

If you come across any dead links, try plugging them into www.archive.org. That site may have a copy of the webpage you were trying to look at.

I found out how to search google without bringing up World of Warcraft results.
put -World -Warcraft at the end of your search ex: leather collar tutorial -World -Warcraft

Other words to use instead of tutorial: howto, beginner, instructions, technique

Good luck!

Love it. I would love to do this when I have the supplies. I think it looks like fireworks, too.
