352  ELVIS Corset ! ( now with bonus Pic of Bruce Campbell ! in post ) ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by violentjayne on: January 08, 2007 02:56:28 AM
Hello ,
Well I went to wall mart today and as always looked int he scrap bin and This time i found A mystery packet it was 75 cents and all I could see was a little bit of green and the paper said 1 of 4 pictures cut short ... what?? well 75 cents means I gotta have it , now if for nothing else to pacify my curiosity  ....  Well when I got it to the car I was very happy to find it was Elvis and having Just watched Bubba Ho-Tep Again the other night I was In an Elvisy mood Anyway  Grin So yay for me !.... There wasn't much to work with and like the package had said It was 4 different black and white photos of Elvis and I don't know what kinda crack the girl who cut it was on but Cut short was a major understatement .... Basically I had 2 salvageable pics of Elvis luckily in my to favorite colors green and orange ! So I added some black and white checked fabric and heres what i came up with

( I dont know why I look so lopsided in this pic Embarrassed.)

The back ... I altered a pattern I had used before so it went from being 8 segments to 2 .... Do you think i need to add more of the checkers to make the back come together more .. I mean does the gap look to big ? .. or is it ok ?

I didn't use any boning ... BUT I think I'm gonna take out the bottom seam and add some as soon as I get some plastic ...

And as usuall Its reversable ... but I didn't feel like trying to lace it again all by myself ...

The grometty piece in the middle is part of an old belt.. I just thought it looked good ...

As Always thank you so much for looking and Id love to hear what you think !

Have a great night

354  a myriad of different patches a made forever ago in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by violentjayne on: December 31, 2006 02:06:37 PM
Hello everyone ,

Here are some patches I made a while ago ... not sure were  to post them ... but I firgured here was a good a place as any ... i made them by simply printing them out on iron on paper .. then i ironed them onto an old bandana then ironed on innerfacing to that the put on another piece of bandana then stitches around the whole thing twice with the #5 zig zag stitch on my machine .... I really likt them alot .. But they cant go in the dryer Angry  But they are washer safe and thats good enough for me ... air dyr is fine .......

close ups ( kinda )
First off conjoined twins !
Cephalopagus.. I believe

Haywood Jablomy

On of the best movies EVER ! "WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE"

My hero " Dawn Weiner"

Coop Frankenstine .....

Thse are super easy way to make custome patches ... although the iron on paper isnt exactly cheap ... if you keep your patches the same size as I did .. you can get 9 per sheet wich over all is very inexpensive !
Thanks for looking
Have a very Happy new year !

355  Re: Blue fire Pleated skirt .. my first time making pleats ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by violentjayne on: December 29, 2006 03:09:41 PM
Jayne, such an awsome skirt! I really like the trim on the skull reverse side, too!

Pleats are really quite easy once you start. Now you can make several more! It also sounds like Santa was good to YOU!

I made a mini somewhat like it this week, but not reversable or with bondage straps. Just a cute pleated hem like yours. Cheesy Some pants got stuck in the agitator and tore up one of the legs.  Shocked So they became a skirt for spring. Roll Eyes

Hello , Isnt that messed up when the washer attacks clothes Angry , But its awesome that you were able to make it into a cool skirt ... did you post it ? I didnt see it .. If you didnt you should Id love to see . One time my washer stopped draining and water went everywhere ... and when the repair man came he found that an entire tank top ( one I had been missing ) was stuck in the drain hose  Angry Angry and unfortunately mold had taken over and the top wasnt salvagable  Sad but oh well.....

i love this skirt. rawr.. the fabrics are soooooo awesome.

a black zip might have suited the two fabrics a little better, but even soo. rock on.

First off thank you . And I couldnt live with the blue zipper either  Wink So I stitched some left over seam binding over it .. to hide it a little

I think it helps

I ran outta black thread so I used invisible ... ironicly it shows up super shiney in the pic ... but in real life its very hard to see... gotta stock up on the black thread !

Thanks again to everyone for the comments
Have a great night

356  Blue fire Pleated skirt .. my first time making pleats ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by violentjayne on: December 29, 2006 12:57:28 AM
Hello every one ...

First off  I got a serger and a dress form for Christmas ... Im super Happy Grin ... Any way for my gift exchange at work some one gave me this Blue flame fabric ...so I wanted to make something out of it to wear next time I work ... Ive been wanting to try to make a pleated .. school girl type skirt for a long time ... so I finnally did

The front ... I adda little metal rings on the belt lops and made removable bondage straps ...

some close ups...

the PLEATS !

the back zipper ... ill probably trim it with black too .. i think the blue of the zipper is a little to dark .. what do you think ?

And in keeping with my obssession ....ITS REVERSABLE !

For the second side I used some skull fabric with yellow eyes ... I added the extra trim over the ruffle to hide the seams

I dont know why the back seam looks croocked in this pic , trust me it isnt like that  i think its the angel my bf took the pic  any way as you can see I used some more seam binding to hide some of the blueness on this side

Well there  you have it my first attempt at pleats . I think they turned out pretty good , what do you think ?

As always thanks for looking !
Have a Happt New Year !

360  The Amazing Spiderman / Valentines Day singles mini-skirt (reversable) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by violentjayne on: December 17, 2006 11:23:27 PM

I think I have developed an UNHEALTHY OBSSESSION with reversable clothing lately .. I guess I just figure if I gotta take the time to line it I may as well get a 2 for 1 . So here is my latest endeavor..this fabric is great Iv had my eye on it for months & there was a huge piece in the scrap bin) but it was 10 $ then it got marked down to 6$ I still helled out and my patience prevailed it was reduced again to 3 $ so I snatched it up ! It has hearts which I usually would not wear (unless there wear bleeding anatomical hearts Wink) But for the irony in this case I made an exception.. It is a news paper print singles ad with hearts circling some of the "better ads" I think it will be very Ironic to wear it on valentines day ( cuz I'm not single ) plus i might put x,s on some of the adds like I dated them and they sucked lol Grin .. The  Spidy fabric was also in the scrap bin for 1.25 so it was mine .

Anyway Side A.

I realized Iv never sat in any of my posts so here ya go ...me sitting

Side B.

Here is a close up of the "vallentines day singles" fabric...

I had to first line the "ads" with some plain white ... to make it less see through

I also used some red splotchy seam binding to trim out the bottom . also I still have a bunch of this fabric so I'm thinking Ill probably make a corset out of it next  Grin
 Thanks so much for looking.
Have a great night !
