2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / round bottom bag? on: September 11, 2006 01:31:21 PM
Hi everyone!

I bought some rings and I wanted to make a bag like this one .. does this require pleating to make a nice shape?   anyone have any pointers?  Or even better, a tutorial that would be helpful?  Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice comments on the purse, I spent such a long time making them, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the way it looks ;P

To sewcute: I have no idea what the grey thing is called, it probably is binding, it's like a ribbon only folded on the back?

beautyproof:  lol .. im not really sure what its called either.  but it sounds, by the way you describe it, that its the stuff i always call "binding" .. its probably the incorrect term.  but at least i know thats what you used Smiley  thanks!

sorry if its more obvious than i think, but i wanted to ask and make sure ... is that binding you used on the edges?  the dark gray?
by the way ,  i love the bag!  its such an adorable design!
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Gilmore Girls Swap Round 3 on: August 16, 2006 10:23:05 AM

6  CANADA / Atlantic Canada / Re: please tell me im not the only Newfoundlander on: August 16, 2006 09:58:28 AM
yay!  i'm a newfoundlander too!  i didn't realize there were so many other newfies who hung out at this forum!  now that i do know, i was thinking it would be cool if we had a newfoundlanders only craft swap (not neccessarily newfoundland "themed"  but with newfoundland members as the swappers) !  i would organize it myself but you have to already particpated in at least 2 swaps to do so.  i have been wanting to participate in a swap for so long now but i would like to start out close to home, where i know there is a much better chance of sending/receiving the packages safely.  i posted in the swap gallery looking for a canada only swap and ended up finding this post about newfies on craftster ... so if anyone is interested and fits the criteria for starting a swap .. i think it would be an excellent idea and i would be totally interested in participating! 7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Metal Rings? on: January 05, 2006 01:22:46 PM
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the text only post but I am looking for somewhere to buy those metal rings that you can use for purse handles?  I'm not even sure what they are ideally used for, but I know they look like big bangles .. and I want them big enough to fit around my wrists.  If anyone gets the jist of what I am trying to ask for and knows of a Canadian site where I might be able to order these from it would be much appreciated if you could leave me a link to it!  Thanks so much!! Smiley

A question to those who saw this post .. how much would you pay for a bag like that?  I was thinking of selling some on ebay in the near future (a.k.a when I find time to make some more).  Thanks everyone!

HardCAndy63:  Sorry it took me so long to reply!  I was out of town.  In answer to your question, yes I did make the bag!  Smiley  A friend of a friend ended up buying it from me she loved it so much.  I don't have the Jimi Hendrix stencil anymore cause it was an old one that I had before my computer crashed.  I have the Morrison one tho, but I plan on searching for the Hendrix one and when I find it I will gladly post it for you!
