1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / I Need Stripper Shoes! on: June 30, 2007 02:10:02 PM
So this is my latest recon.I bought this dress from the thrift store. The black midsection is actually a cami that got too small for me( I say that like it shrunk.I'm almost a size 24 now.It was an 18) So I just chopped some and sewed some.I thought the dress as a solid animal print was too overwhelming and the black balanced it.Not a major recon but I like. It's very short. When I walk it runs WAY up...hence needing stripper shoes.lol.

Close up of material. There are some dot sequince stuff on it that fall off.Annoying
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / All bras should run when I'm bored!!! on: May 03, 2007 07:45:09 AM
Ok so I know this is no big feat but I thought it was cute.Being bored can always turn up some intresting things. This is what I did with a retired push up bra.The underwire came out the padding was removed (because I  didnt need it). This is no where near functional.Im thinking about mounting it onto a piece of stretched canvas and calling it art.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / I need ideas for my show! on: March 10, 2007 06:45:14 AM
Let me start by saying I am in no way, shape or form an experienced maker of jewelry...So getting that out of the way
I have a fashion show coming up on the 24th and I have made my garments but now I'm running low on money and need to make some jewelry to go along with my dresses.
The dresses are white and I need ideas for really cool, inexpensive necklaces(preferably long). So that's about it Necklaces that are easy to make (since I am short on time),inexpensive (since I am short on money) and look good (because this would be my first show and my name is on the line).
If you all have ANY ideas they will be appreciated.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / More Dresses!IMG Heavy! on: March 08, 2007 06:47:47 PM
These are couple of my new dresses for an up coming show.Sorry the pics are so huge I don't know how to down size them.Hope you like.(Really hope my models like)
All of the dresses are made of a white 2 way stretch material.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / 2 Trashy? Img heavy? on: February 28, 2007 03:01:57 PM
I think so.Ok so I made this dress for a fashion show...
It's obviously body hugging (could you tell?). On one hand I think it is too trashy and on the other I'm thinking so what it's fashion.
It's like a big girl ate a stripper.I can say this since I am a big girl and I did not just offend myself.
I'm not sure...All opinions welcomed.I would not be the one modeling it so hopefully I find a model that could totally pull it off for a thick chick.I would have this one and another one in same fabrics but reversed (orange would then be purple and so on)

Let me know......

6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re Use Freezer Paper? on: February 24, 2007 02:29:25 PM
I couldn't find info about this but I mad a cool stencil on freezer paper that was a pain in the arse to cut out and I was wondering if it is ok to be used again and if so how?Mine still had dried fabric paint on it so I'm guessing it wont be any good.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / What to do with the Ex's ties!(Jean Recon) on: February 24, 2007 02:23:40 PM
Nothing fancy but this is what I did with his ties.I considered burning them but decided I could put them to better use.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Fashionably late convertible dress on: February 22, 2007 07:59:33 AM
So everyone has made one and I finally did it too.I love this dress but I need to make one in all black so I can wear it all the time.

I must say two of the views I would never wear without first drinking something strong.lol
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / My new Dress (first post) on: February 20, 2007 06:17:24 PM
Ok so thanks so much to Keena who was inspired by a design that I just fell in love with and HAD to give a shot. The original is on the designer homage page.
I am in love with this dress!

Hope you all like. This is my first post of a finished garment.Woo Hoo!

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / How to cover a dress form??? on: February 10, 2007 11:42:07 AM
I won a dress form in school but it looks like a dog has been going at it.The covering is almost torn off completly. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I could cover it but keeping it pinnable at the same time.I am a little lazy so I dont want to have to sew and drape another muslin if I absolutely have to.It's no where near my size which is fine by me it'll be udes to just drape samples and random stuff.

I heard someone mentioning the use of ace bandages to alter the size...N-E one ever used this method?
