So far so good. So those of you that are further along, how is the shape of the sweater? Do I need to plan on adding more decreases or is the existing pattern shape fitted enough as is? I am a busty gal and I don't want this to end up being box-y on me.
Craftsters rule! Who else could figure this fancy-schmancy bag out...
What about doing a basketweave-type stitich for the top of the bag in a dark brown yarn or some earthy yarn, like bamboo, to replicate the effect of the wicker. Kinda similar concept to the Berocco pattern Illanna24 shared.
I am definitely going to have to add this project to my list.
I have yet to try this yarn so I am interested to see what it will be like knitted up. But the appeal of a soft alpaca yarn against my skin was too great to pass up, and the price isn't too bad either. I did the math and it looks like this yarn is spot on when it comes to the weight and gauge the pattern calls for. So we shall see how it goes when it gets here! Yay!!
Glaistig, I think that your stockings turned out darling! Reading your blog, did you ever try shrinking your stockings? If you did, How did it go??
Looking on Eunny's blog, she added an elastic post-knitting too. It looks like she just added a thick elastic band behind her ribbing. If you go to her blog you can see how she did it. I might try it that way.
