1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Lots of glass pendants... on: December 23, 2012 06:22:23 PM
I was given a bunch of crafting supplies, including a ton of those large glass pendants. I'd say there's probably about 20 of them. I really don't want to make that many necklaces and would love some ideas!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Men's XL Sweater --> Tunic Sweater on: October 09, 2008 03:38:15 PM
After reading the tutorial here, https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=218058.0, I was inspired to create my own!

I really want to make a sweater dress to wear to the wedding I'm attending next month, but I figured I better have some practice runs first. I'm still pretty new to sewing, and haven't really done much other than bags/purses.

So I took a men's XL cashmere sweater from the thrift and turned it into a tunic-length sweater for myself! The sleeves are a little wonky, but I'm still pretty excited about how well it all turned out.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern help please. on: October 24, 2007 10:50:51 PM
Okay....so I'm working on the sock pattern from http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Start.htm

I'm on the bit where I'm starting the heel...and it says:
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until you have worked a total of 32 24 20 rows.
End after the last slip 1, knit 1 row (right side row).

Now, working 24 rows would end me on the slip 1 purl across row. So, do I actually end one earlier than 24...or do I do one extra row?  Huh
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Senso Cotton? on: October 16, 2007 05:27:45 PM
So...while at Hobby Lobby tonight I was looking at cotton yarns for dishcloths/washcloths. I noticed the Senso and I thought it would make nice washcloths since it felt nice and soft, so I bought I couple balls. Then I came home and noticed that it was crochet thread. Silly me, not reading all of the labels  Roll Eyes

Now..would this be suitable to knit with, or would I be better off to just take it back and exchange it?
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Scents? on: March 24, 2007 04:53:05 PM
So, I've seen that some people make scented pieces with polymer clay. I was wondering how I can scent it, what I should use, etc. Sorry if this is a newbie question...I finally just decided to try out polymer!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / St. Patty's Day Necklace on: March 17, 2007 08:43:31 PM
I felt like wearing something in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day today, but realized I didn't own any green  Shocked No clothes, jewelry, nada.

So, I played around with a few ideas, and this is what I came up with:

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / A couple new things(AKA my trial with wire) on: March 16, 2007 03:21:26 PM
So, lately I've been getting bored of doing the same old things so I've decided to play around a bit with wire/wire-wrapping. Here's just a couple new things I've done:

I think the colors look pretty nice together, garnet and sodalite =)

I've been mulling over what to do with these beads forever lol. Russian jade...and I even made the ear wire myself!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Think Spring Bracelet on: February 11, 2007 10:58:17 PM
I made this bracelet a while ago, but I love it so much more now that it's winter and I want it to be spring  Grin

Mostly glass beads, but the 2 round beads are rose quartz.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / My Valentine Earrings(Hey...everyone else is doing it ;) ) on: February 09, 2007 12:57:44 PM
I made these earrings with swarovski hearts =)

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded Chokers w/Tutorial on: January 07, 2007 02:18:48 AM
Since many of you commented on the necklace pictured with a pair of my earrings---here are more of that style necklace, along with a tutorial!!

Now, these are made as 13" chokers but could easily be sized larger or even down to a bracelet!

My paint skills are extremely lacking, so I've tried to word this as best as possible.

2 30" pieces of beading wire
Lots of Delicas(or other 11/0 seed beads)
3mm swarovski bicones
4mm swarovski bicones
4 small spacer beads
clasps/jump ring
crimp beads

1.Take both piece of beading wire, fold each in half and crimp onto jump ring, creating 4 strands(leave the loops a bit loose)

2.First string a spacer bead, 1 per set of strands.

3.String 19 delica beads onto each strand.

4.Take the first 2 strands(1 wire) and cross through a 3mm swarovski, repeat with other wire.

5.Now, take the outide strands and string a 4mm swarovski on each. Then take the 2 middle strands and string a 4mm swarovski.

6.Take the 2 left strands, and cross through a 3mm swarovski. Repeat with the right.

7. Now just repeat steps 3-6 until you have 10 clusters of swarovskis.

8. To finish, string 19 delica beads on each strand. Than string 1 spacer bead on each set of wires. Now just crimp onto the clasp, and it's done!
