Before I give my recipe I would like to say that shake'n'bake tofu is obvious but brilliant...why didn't I think of it? Wink
Also, vegetarian sloppy joes are very yummy and easy for entertaining.

Any vegetables in the microwave with a bit of water makes for a good warm side or appetizer or snack. Broccoli is my favorite.

I forget where I found this recipe. Somewhere on the internet. Anyways, some people have called it "Tempura Tofish" (tofu-fish), though I don't think it taste like what I remember fish tasting like. I guess its the and seaweed salty taste...Pretty time consuming but very tasty if you like Nori and tofu.

1 pound tofu
Nori sheets
soy sauce
tempura batter(I buy it in a box, make sure to read ingredients for anything icky)
veggie oil

1.Drain Tofu (I use extra firm though firm would work fine)

2.Cube tofu

3.Cut the Nori sheets into strips with scisors

4. Dip the tofu in soysauce and then wrap the tofu cube with a strip of nori (I usually have different size cubes ...i guess they're not so cubey... and dif.  sized. strips sometimes it covers it sometimes its just wrapped around most of the center.) If they strip doesn't stick- dab with soysauce.

5. Mix the tempura batter by directions on box. If you like a thinner batter add more water.

6. Dip the tofish in batter and fry according to directions on box. I use a deep fryer, you can use a saucepan with a oil enough to cover cubes

Put on papertowels when done frying because they will be oily. I dip them in a soysauce-lemonjuice-water mixture. Or you can use sweet and sour sauce or whatever you'd like really. It hardly needs something to dip it into.


Can get messy, I usually do the wrapping while watching cartoons or listening to music then mix batter and fry. You work up an appetite.
