Ptarmic, I loved the shibori scarf!!  I hope to see more.  Thank you for working on Lana's coat.  I'm really excited to see it!!

Happy Birthday to your mom Javede!!  I bet she loved her gifts!!

Penguino, I really love your new sock yarns.  How hard are socks to knit?  Any good books?

Raynbow, Yay for you on the Michael's job!  Hope you don't spend your whole paycheck there.  LOL!  Ok, so do you mean that we need to spend down to 5 points by the end or can we carry more over to the next round?  I lost track of what the official rule was.

My daughter's like that too, atsuko!  I told her another round of SSS was starting up, and she was pretty excited.  Smiley   The shipping gets expensive for both of us doing it though (she's perpetually broke: "I'll pay you back at Christmas"  Roll Eyes ).  I only let her get away with it because it's more fun to craft with someone than by myself.  Wink

I'll have to come up with something to offer. I anticipate some major crochet burn out (doing a blanket for another swap, and haven't done any other crafting for the last week), but maybe something else.  Maybe decorated t-shirts?  I bought a bunch of fabric markers last time they were on sale.

Ooh, I agree that it is totally fun crafting with someone.  It's fun seeing ideas and sharing them.  The other day Lana made me a pic of Mt. Fuji (out of paint and cotton) because she saw the felt wallhanging that Ptarmic wumpus made me and she figured I really liked Mt. Fuji (which I do).  I should take a pic of it and post it for her.

I think we should all be proud of ourselves for sharing/showing the importance of creativity/art in daily life.  I can tell that Lana already understands how wonderful it is when someone makes something with their own two hands.

Can't wait to see what you end up crafting Muria!!

Yay!!  Thank you ktlady!!  Lana is going to be so happy.  She's become quite the little addict and always asks if there is something for her when I receive a swap package.  Smiley

wwrich, I'm glad everything is ok.  Boy, we're having weird weather over here...hot and humid and now thunderstorms.  Just came back from my daughter's best friend's B-day party and I'm beat from all that heat.

Last night I worked on Sansa's custom order, a Byzantine weave necklace in copper.  Smiley  Hopefully I'll get in some quality crafting time this evening and be able to finish it.  It's impressive so far.  I'll be posting this in the gallery for sure.
10448  UNITED STATES / Maryland / Re: Where to donate unused sewing supplies and fabric? on: August 24, 2007 06:55:22 PM
Hi!  Me and the gang sew pillows for Bears, Books, and Bonnets.  We would love any cotton fabric if you would like to donate it. BBB serves the cancer patients in MD hospitals, as well as some in NY and GA.  If you could spare the time you might also consider sewing pillow blanks for us.  It's a simple (7" x 10") pillow for those undergoing chemotherapy to rest their hand on as well as something for the little ones with cancer to squeeze.  I started this pillows project as a tribute to my dad who died from cancer.

Thank you for the closeup on the turtle and the book title.  I think I can guess at how it was made.  Smiley
