1  Re: A slight variation on duct tape roses (with tutorial) in Completed Projects by bluecat on: April 15, 2006 08:33:10 PM
I've made these. How long have yours lasted though? because whenever I use electrical tape the tape eventually stops holding and the petals "unfold" a little. That's why I like duct tape better.

To the people that are confused, this is how you make the basic petals (imagine the white part as the sticky side of the tape) But in this drawing I made it look like you should use a long strip of tape for each petal, which doesn't look as good as using a shorter strip. Oh well I'm not a professional illustrator but you get the idea Smiley

Then you can overlap the bottom part like she did in the picture in the first post.

To the people who say you don't get the tutorials, is it the petals you're having trouble making?
That was my problem...no offense to whoever made those linked tuts but those tuts suck at showing how to do the petals themselves. It's so easy too. I made my own crappy little MSpaint tutorial, but I think-hope it makes it clear how to do the petals, hope this helps (the white part is the sticky side)
