Came home to find my sketchbook has arrived!  I had already jotted down ideas and inspiration in my normal art journal, so I am just going to jump in to page 6 and get it started... Cheesy

I got red and my theme is "The View from up Here"...I think I am going to rebind mine as well since I am afraid that any collage work will be too thick...or else, just stick to watercolor pencils...not sure yet...trying to figure out if I can actually print on the paper they gave me...can't wait to see the pages start to appear here...or are we all going to post on the website??

Encouragement to all!!!

Love the ladybug embellishment on the scarf!  I like finding cute ami's made for knitting--the turtle is adorable!

Crochet earrings are always a nice item to receive!  Also like the blanket--wow--lots of crocheting there!

wonderful packages!

I just realized that I must have missed some postings!  I will have to go back through the gallery when Ihave more time after I get home!  YAY for seeing more stuff!

aww--I love making felted purses--they are so satisfying to make!  thanks for your lovely comments!

Isn't that cowl actually Calorimetry?  I think it's a headband/earwarmer rather than a neck warmer.  It's beautiful nonetheless!

Thank you very much for your nice comment--yeah, it is a caliometry--I should have explained that in my note--sorry, sweety!

The "earrings" are actually suppose to be crochet markers, but they certainly can be used as earrings and a spare...the balls are of felted wool... Cheesy

The turquoise yarn is handspun leftover from another swap--enough for a small project--it has beads in it!

The green yarn is wool so that you can try your hand at felting if you like!  Crocheted items are usually thicker but if you use a looser stitch like a double or treble crochet, it makes it tighten up nicely!!

Yay!  Glad you like everything...you were a great swap partner... Cheesy

So sorry to hear of such sad news, vampedangel14...  Cry

I'll be honest and say that when I have had loved ones die, I was not ready for anything that would bring so many memories--it was overwhelmingly sad and hard to deal with...I know people were trying to be kind but what I really needed was time to process, so the best gifts I got were things that helped me out, like people taking me out to eat, picking up some favorite foods for me, just coming over and helping around the house, getting me some books, etc.

It took a few years before I was able to look at "memory" stuff--but everyone is different.

Someone took my car and washed it and for some reason, that special thing stands out in my mind and that was 10 years ago when I suffered the loss...

Maybe a coupon book decorated with special things you could do to help your grandpa out?  You could include things like hugs, I love you's, run an errand, eat dinner, etc.

oops--sorry--I thought it was odd that you sent out two packages!  I even went to the first page to see if you got two partners...then I got distracted...I blame my advancing age Wink

The tree is very clever---and it has a face! Cheesy

I agree--we can't have too many pics and views of the dotees...

I also love the dotee from rosie1981--I must be getting sentimental as they are my favorite type of dotee as well...sweet and simple---love the tail!!  And, I have never used paper pulp in this fashion--what a great idea--so is it pressed into a mold like clay?

The materials used for the skull dotee are very cool--I love the white hair...

I think I am definitely going to dump my sewing machine for this one...I love hand sewing so much...can't wait to get started...I will be out of town but I did pack my suitcase full of crafting supplies and at least one pair of underwear and a change of clothing Cheesy

The pillows so far are just awesome...I can see that this is going to be an addictive craftalong...
