Very cute...and the green velvet body is great...also, what a pretty use of a pendant as a tail!

They turned out wonderful!  I never thought to use my elastic yarn for a calio!!  Your short rows turned out very nice...the recipients are going to love them!

Update:  our local bargain store had a huge sale of large skeins of Vanna White yarn --7 oz skeins for $2.99.  My best friend and I bought tons as we are making lapghans for the nursing home...since they will be washed a lot, the acrylic yarn is perfect and practical...each afghan will cost about $12 to make.  Thanks for posting your beautiful afghan and showing off a yarn that I would probably not even looked at!

There were not tons of color choices, but I think that any leftovers will be used to make this pattern with adding a few colors at regular/sale prices from Joann's!

oh--I get it--the game pieces themselves...ha ha...

I have always wanted to get that knitting book for my non-knitting friends! I felt the same with crochet...but with lots of assistance and patience, I am crocheting a lot!  I am now making shawls and a sweater--last year I barely made a scarf! Cheesy

I still love to knit but I am not to the level of making a sweater yet...only because I have no patience (but I have patience for a quilt?)--go figure!

With that said, I need to post my latest crochet creations...note to self: take pics!

If you can quilt, you can knit... Wink

On some of our basement windows, hubby got some insulated ceiling tiles and cut them to fit snug in the windows...we attached a handle so we could pull if off if needed...no light gets through, but in the winter, it didn't matter anyway...you could do it only for the bottom half to stop any draft and keep the light...we have some with rigid tiles and others with the stuff with the insulation between...I don't like the latter because it does get mildewy and has to be thrown out in the spring...

thanks for the bubblewrap link!!!  I am going to try that for my hubby's bathroom...he needs the light but likes a bit more privacy!

I think it turned out beautiful!  The colors are fantastic...what type of edging is it?

Wonderful job!!  Did you make a slot so people could put in money? ha ha  He could have collected candy and money at the same time!

The smile says it all....he loved being a vending machine!

I tend to crank it up over the holidays because it is a great stress reliever for me...I get overwhelmed by the holidays and crafting decompresses me...I am pretty sure I am going to bet 12 projects done by the end of the year!

But, you are right--it seems the more you do, the more people want you to do and the list just grows and grows and grows!!

Soorawn--I am so intrigued by your trivia board!  When you say you are looking for small items as tokens, what do you mean?  What are the tokens for?  Do you mean you laminate the small items?  I am asking because I have a whole jar of little items that maybe you could use?  Is the game for your family?  I must have missed reading something...let me go back and read a few posts back... ok--I found the part I missed!  Trivia for the students!  Awesome!

Also, I can't believe I missed that awesome sweater sarahj2002 made and the dyed fiber/yarn!!! WOW!

I think next year I will join the granny CAL...a lot of people seem to have been motivated to use up the bits and bobs of yarn...I have so many ONE skeins of yarn that I fell in love with the yarn but had no project in mind...that is what I am not buying anymore...I will only buy yarn if I have a project in mind...

The good news is that once I took my comforter and mattress heating pad out from under the king size bed drawer, I have this huge space to store stuff over the winter!  I am stashing my bargain afghan yarn there so it will not be in my face all winter...and hopefully gone by the time I have to store the stuff back!
