ysmeine--even your practice pieces turn out lovely!

love the pillows...I am in a "pillow" mood as well...but, you are right...I always wait until I have coupons to get inserts...I am making my pillow covers with an envelope back so I can change them whenever I get tired of them...

and, cloudsnapper...I LOVE THAT HAT!!!  I just printed it out to make soon!  I have tons of redheart that I could use up...I think buff and gold would look nice with that hat, although I love the high contrast...I am going to use navy and white since those are Penn State colors and my hubs is a Penn State guy!

I love how fluid your pieces are...just beautiful...
15124  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Use Your Leftovers- Scrappy Projects (not afghans!) Crochet-along on: January 10, 2012 08:50:33 AM
why, thanks! Cheesy

I just used a basic hat pattern, using double crochet on most rows, single on some...depending on the yarn...the yarns make the pattern...

On the blue and grey, I used the Divinity Hat---it has a spiral and is very easy and fast...

Right now, I am using my homespun yarn to make hats....my goal is to use up as many leftovers as I can!  I have about six "kits" made up and in plastic bags and will get to them this winter I am sure! Cheesy

Please post your projects if you try this...it will be addicting!

All hats will be going to good homes and charities...I usually keep one or two for myself.

so many lovely quilts! I will have to spend some time looking at the lists to get more ideas...I tend to buy fabric and then pick a design...I finally bought some graph paper to use this year instead of using my crude drawings!

jennieingram--the nerdy quilt is going to be so colorful and fun for a child!  Glad to see that you are doing a Mason Jar quilt...I still have not used my food fabrics, but I do plan on using the blues you sent!

waggonswest---wow--what a HUGE list full of quilts...I am so following you over on the 12 quilts for 2012...

cursive_queen--love your pillows!  I blew them up so my eyes could see them--love the color and print...

QNM--your food projects should be banned...how can I diet when I see such yummy goodies? Cheesy

I love using cans for organizing supplies...I did not paint mine...I kind of like the look...but gold would make it really pretty...or even white!

I think white might be too stark for a pirate dresser...I would try to find some brassy looking paint to embellish...and cool knobs...you should google steampunk furniture as well to get some ideas...it is a lovely piece!

sheepblue--what a fun tin!

that1 girl--you are off and running!  Love your pins...do you make them using those template thingies I have been seeing at stores?  I do them the old fashioned way of cutting and folding but the templates look really fast!

Now that I have everyone's list on page one, I can start "borrowing ideas"...Cheesy  I think one of my goals might be to make one thing off everyone's list!

So pretty!  I love the idea of using one color group...I think doing a small project might boost my confidence...I am going to see if I can round up enough of one color to do something small...it is quite frustrating to have inherited so much thread and have it sit in a drawer...

I want to get rid of it because I have started a collection of silk floss...practice would be a good idea for me! Cheesy
