I am also doing a linen stitch scarf and love love love it!

But, for I also prefer the stockinette in the yarn you are using...not quite sure why...I think perhaps that the linen stitch seems to me to be better suited for short runs of many yarns or complete solids...it is a blender stitch and your yarn is a strong patterned one...does that make sense?

I love the colors, btw...and such lovely yarn...yummy!

That would make a lovely small quilting project!

I have to quit looking at quilting videos while I clean my office...I now want to make an X and O quilt, too...
14813  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Most Amazing Wicked Vices Altered Tin swap Gallery on: February 20, 2012 07:20:24 AM
The chocolate tin was just too fabulous!  I would have tried to steal one off your desk as well...

The napping tin is so clever!  What a perfect tin for grasshopper! Grin and the teeny Dr. Pepper can was an added detail!

The extras you guys did for your personal swap was wonderful...thanks for sharing...both of you have major skills in crafting! I especially love the bowling queen

Audio--love the Procrastination Tin...I will forever think of procrastination as that pesky black bird flying around in my head! Grin

I love all of the creativity this swap has shown off!

oh no-all that work Milady!  Perhaps it will still show up!  I had a package go missing for 15 months and it showed up when they were cleaning out a postal storage facility!!!

Love the car blanket--that is a clever idea...it takes forever for one of our cars to heat up and a small blanket would be perfect!

love the bags...I truly tried to look over my upholstery fabrics this weekend and just was not at all inspired to use any of it for bags...but, one of your bags looks sort of like a fabric I have and I love that bag!  Maybe I will just give it a go and see what I get!

I did make two curtain panels and a quilt top this weekend...so, just a bit of stash gone...

Very clever!  You do nice work covering a box...and so small!

I love the inside...

I made major progress on my Dr. Who scarf!!  I am on the last major section...I knew this thread would inspire me to finish!

I used the tutorial Mare linked us to, the Missouri Quilt Co one...it was using a jelly roll...I finished my quilt top yesterday and loved the results!  I definitely will be using that pattern again!

I am going to stick on the borders and take an in-progress shot...I have a boatload of fabric coming tomorrow (yes, I ordered from them!!)...so I want to clean up my space so I can try some of the other patterns...

Zigzag quilt...can't wait to see that...will probably add another one to my list!!!
14817  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: dorothy parker sweater!! on: February 20, 2012 06:33:29 AM
Too many things to love about this sweater...mostly that it is obviously made with complete joy...the colors, the quote, the little designs...lovely stitching as well...

I understand that you are mostly self-taught...which makes this incredible!!

That is the cutest birdie ever!!

Also, I think using the vinyl was a great idea for a necklace!  You make such cute things...

I also don't think you have to use paper in that...I am sure junggrl told us that today...
14819  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Oatmeal Canister Knitting Needle/ Crochet Hook Organizer on: February 17, 2012 12:52:32 PM
Wouldn't you have to have all different sizes of holes for the different needle sizes?  It would not be so practical for me since I probably would not put them back into their proper sized holes! Grin...

I totally forgot that I wanted to make this back in 2009!  I am using an oatmeal box now to hold my needles but it is still ugly cardboard...time to get this one done...xdragonldayx--I am also looking for a way to store circulars and DPN's that will be practical and functional...I am using a cloth pouch now but it is a pain to dig through and look for a set of three or four of the same sizes!! Cheesy

How do you do it?
14820  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Healthy Eats-Along 2012 on: February 17, 2012 12:45:26 PM
Quinoa has become my favorite grain ever...Grin  I will have to try the quiches, only I probably will not put ham in mine..maybe shitake mushrooms instead!

I do not use gelatin in my crockpot yogurt...I don't mind it a bit runny, especially in summer...I use it a lot to make fruit smoothies...cheesecloth works really well, and it also gets firmer as it gets "older"...I usually use the old yogurt to start the new yogurt...I think my original yogurt starter is about two or three years old...

edelc--do you like tamales?  It is made with corn flour and they are a lot easier to make than tortillas...I use a corn/bean/rice mix for the inside, but you can use chicken or beef as well...

I definitely am going to get cauliflower this weekend...those poppers look like the perfect snack for my need of crunchy salty snacks!
