My sister is a volunteer for Habitat!  She loves the work they do...I was lucky enough to work with Jimmy Carter and his wife on a home in Atlanta...there is something about working with your hands that makes everyone equal! Cheesy

Sounds like your house projects are kicking your butt! But, just think--after all the hard work, you will have fun making stuff for your home!

Cute bag!

Do you ever get those cheesy refrigerator magnets that come in the mail or from advertising flyers?  I save them and cut them into squares to make cheap closures...they are not meant to hold anything heavy, but they usually work through one layer of fabric..you can punch holes in them and tack them on or even use glue...then a metal button, snap, or even a metal washer will stick to it as the other side...I cut a few into flower shapes...best part: FREE worst part: more stuff to save.

I like the same one!  How did you get such brilliant colors?  Is it pigment ink?

I also like small, satisfying projects when I am in a slump...I made three jar lid pincushions and at least felt like I was productive even if there was no dent in my stash!

I know indigo--she and I had a meet up recently and I took her to our local yarn shop where she is learning to knit!  She is a lovely young lady and I think that pillow will be a bright spot in her home!

Yeah--I tend to make up my own patterns...I love math and I love graph paper!  This year, I am trying to learn what certain basic patterns are called and also trying to learn more traditional blocks...but, like you, I just love fabrics and have to justify that love by making stuff! Cheesy

Sloth--I made a yo-yo pillow and cussed the whole time! Cheesy  I had no idea how much work it took to sew all of them together...I was going to make a quilt someday: FORGET IT! Cheesy

You did an awesome job and I truly admire that you had the patience to do it...the colors are also lovely!

But, to make it reversible with a patchwork pattern in MY favorite colors?  YOU ROCK!

And, the embroidery of the tree and the seasonal leaves...it is so gorgeous!  I don't have a lot of room for hoops, but pillows...what a great place for embroidery!  Nicely done!

Canadian partners I swap with better send me Kinder Eggs or else I will ban them from my swap list... Cheesy

Those scarves are lovely!  I love the blue one -- you sitting on the straw bale!

that1girl--love the pillow that matches the quilt you made!

I am hating spring cleaning...but I am determined to get rid of stuff I know I will never do...it is freeing to have less stuff!

My big destash this weekend was using up some fat quarters to make a rainbow zig zag quilt...I think I might have used up about half a shoe box of fabric...I have no idea why I have so much green...it is not even my favorite color!

I also used a bunch of scraps to make pouches but I am not done yet...I have to line them...but I did use up seven zippers!

Clothes are the hardest for me to get rid of because I want to "save" all the fabric...I must remember that someone might need the clothes...

crap--forgot to say how much I love your batik pillow cover fiddle!!  I adore batiks and so does my niece!

She did not go crazy over a yo-yo pillow I made for her nursery, so I think I will make her a batik one instead...I have all the right colors(she loves earth colors)...

Penquin--love your quilt!  Is the fabric Basic grey/origins?  I am making a quilt for a friend using a fence rail pattern...I used black as a border and then a pieced border and an antique white border...I was going to just use a solid olive for the back, but I am not sure about the quilting so I might go for an all over print...

Mare--the ghastlies quilt is going to be wonderful!  Also, I love the modern pattern quilt...

I got tired of looking at my fat quarter stashes so I decided to use some up and do a rainbow zig zag quilt.  I really need to use up some larger pieces of fabric to make room for more, but then I get obsessed with the scraps...

I had one charm pack left over from a quilt I was working on so I decided to make pouches...I got six pouches and two mug rugs out of it...now I just need to find lining that matches... Cheesy

Waiting on my fabric order from Connecting Threads....I ordered all solids...I am sort of burned out on colors...

Aria embroideries better than I do!  It is great that she wants to join in the fun...

Love those buttons, Rlynn...last night I was so uninspired by my fabric stash...I thought: who can I look up to inspire me--your name came up!  So, guess I will be making some projects inspired by the thousands you have done...wow...

sarahj2001--I admire your knitting skills!  I really should be a sweater on my list for fall...if I start now, it might get done! Cheesy

meleriffic--I love your blanket!  Monochromatic color schemes always appeal to me...it is nicely done!

trina--more snakes!  Hope you had a great snakes day!

smashu--you are my latest craftster crush!  So talented...I have just started including a lot more kale in my diet...the t-shirt design really made me laugh!

Visited my local yarn shop this weekend...got some prizes and also some yarn for myself...I think it is a mixed blessing when they know you by name... Cheesy...

I have pics to post after I get more batteries at lunch...my rechargeable batteries finally stop holding charges after 15 years!!!!  yep--same batteries for 15 years!  I recommend them as a green alternative to disposable batteries...
