591  Re: The Great Craftster Scavenger Hunt Round 2 Swap Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by Homerof2 on: November 28, 2006 03:52:03 PM
Ratzrule received from me a long time ago but wasn't able to get pictures posted and, unfortunately, the ones I took were erased from my camera.  So, after PMs back and forth, she e-mailed the pictures to me and I'm going to post them.

Here's most everything (just realized there are 2 items not in the photo)

and a close up of the sides, top and bottom of the jewelry box

Now, let's see - I used

on the jewelry box:

Canadian flag
Irridescent sequins
Something bumpy (the snowman)
Seomthing heart shaped
Something music related
Something musical
Something oval and blue (the egg)
Something speckled (orange and black ball on top)
Somethign that reminds you of fall (leaves)
Something you can read (the letter S)
Something you see in winter (the snowman)

and other items:

Breakfast treat (a package of peach instant oatmeal)

On the lip balm:  A photo (there really is one) and something with partners favorite flavor or scent

The stingray:  An unusual animal (it sure is for Canada), something from the ocean and something fuzzy

Necklace and bracelet:  Something lime green, something purple and shiney, something round and shiney

Tea (the tea, of course)

Penguin keychain - something penguin

Beaded glow in the dark necklace - something glow in the dark and something plastic

Dog stickers - something shiney

I also sent her a panta (something to keep your partner warm this winter) and, I believe, I also sent a pen (ink and something to do with literature or writing) as well, I wrote her note on pink paper.

Whew, I think I've remembered everything!

592  Re: Looking for suggestions on how to border my purple/yellow quilt in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by Homerof2 on: November 28, 2006 08:12:17 AM
It's laying on my living room floor right now in pieces but here's a shot of a few of the blocks so you can get the general idea of what it will look like

I like your idea prue - I wonder what it would look like if I used a mixture of the yellow from the squares for the tiny highlight border rather than just all one color?

My package from Ratzrule arrived today.  Here are pictures and a list of the items used.

Magnets (something retro)
Earrings (something heart shaped)
Bracelet (something oval and blue, something heart shaped, something shiney)

Picture frame (small mirrors, lime green)
Dolphin (glow in the dark) - there were actually many of these, I only showed one
Scarecrow (sticker)
Pen (something purple and shiney - the wire wrapped around it, something fuzzy and a pom pom - the pom pom head,
ink, something to do with literature or writing)

Windchimes (silverware)

Lollipop (spider) there were many of these but, again, I am only showing one
Box (fabric flower - on the top, irridescent sequins)

She also included a note written on pink paper (something pink, something you can read)

Thanks for everything!

594  Re: Quilt Block of the Month Craftalong in Craftalongs by Homerof2 on: November 25, 2006 10:56:25 AM
I figured that since I was the one anxious to keep this going, I better get at least one square done this month.  So I picked the easiest one!

The contrast between the cream and white is much better in person but no matter how many pictures I took, I couldn't get it to show up very good.

595  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 2 in The Swap Gallery by Homerof2 on: November 25, 2006 07:40:16 AM
Here's a clearer picture of the stocking hanging on my kitchen wall (it matched so perfectly yet I had to give it away)

I have to agree with krafty_kelly - SevsOnlyGirl, you did a wonderful job by pairing us together!

I received a FANTASTIC package from krafty_kelly today!  Wow, it's like she knows me because everything she sent is so suited to me.

First, the stocking

And now the contents:

A bag (which used to be a placemat), a towel with a snowman applique and the largest pin cushion I have ever seen!

A felted bowl (designed to fit around a plastic container), 2 wonderful wrapped pens (1 is personalized with my name) and a cookie cutter (filled with jellybeans)

A caribou tufted keychain (many people where I grew up used to do this sort of artwork and so it brings back so many good memories for me - now when I'm talking about tufting and people give me a strange look, I can show them my keychain)

3 snowmen items that are going to find wonderful places during my winter and/or Christmas decorating season!

Last, but certainly not least, some candy made in Newfoundland (where Kelly is from) - peppermint and peanut butter (and are they yummy!)  and a cookbook which I know I will get lots of use from.

THANK YOU Kelly for all the wonderful things - I feel very spoiled and can't wait until you get your package!

I received a package of English goodies from ZombieFlesh today!

In case you can't see it all in the picture, this is what she sent - 3 kinds of candy, some snowman stickers, 2 postcards, a book by her favorite author (she even included a newspaper article about him), a Remembrance Day poppy, a rain cloud, a package of gum, some tea (of course) and a newspaper so I can see what kinds of things the English report on.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tease Krafty_Kelly a little - here's what you should be looking for in your mail box - it will leave my house on Monday:

I (actually, my husband) received a wonderful t-shirt from Dragonsmuse today!  I had asked for something M&M related and this is the stencil she made:

It's fantastic!
