...Ok so after 5 years of bliss in my beautiful big airy bedroom, it is now time to swap back with my little brother. I'm going to be living in university halls part time so it's only fair that I get the box room - which is just over 6 foot by 6 foot, about a quarter of the size of my current room. My brother's going away for 5 days next week so I was hoping to swap our rooms round in this time....here's where you come in! I'm going to need your help!! I need ideas for:
*how to decorate my lilac room for a 14-year-old boy
*how to decorate his cream textured walls and brown carpet (never decorated) room into a cute, compact (ahhh 6 foot by 6 foot) space for my bed, clothes and craft stuff...
*how to create storage for my craft stuff, maybe something that could fit under my bed?
*also any links to tutorials for home decorating stuff would be great!!
*what to do with the textured wallpaper - it's too disgusting to paint over, and my brother's pulled half of it off...should I just pull the rest off and wallpaper again? How do I do this??!
I already have a single bed which just about fits in the room, and takes up half of it. My brother will be able to keep the furniture in my room - built in wardrobes and a desk and bookshelf. He can take his bunkbed with him if I can work out how to take it apart to fit it through the door!
I have a team of willing friends to lend a hand so I really hope I can get this done! I'll post some pictures of the rooms later to give you an idea of what they're like. Thank you for reading all this (wow I'd have given up by now!!) Edit: now with pictures!
Please excuse the disgusting state of my room...
View from my door
View from my window
Desk and built in wardrobes
My brothers room (which will be mine!) from the door
Cool windowsill, big enough for a couple of people to sit in (could i do anything with it?)
Horrible textured wallpaper
Oooh look what I found when I pulled up the carpet...cool tiles! I could keep them or get my friend to lay a new carpet (he's a carpet fitter)
Wow you're patient! Byeeeee!
