41  Spool pumpkin in Halloween Decor and Parties by SonjaBoo on: September 15, 2015 03:50:20 AM
I made this for KarenLouiseM in the vintage Halloween swap -- it's a little pumpkin guy made from a spool and vintage cardboard bobbins. (I have a million of these and was glad to finally use them in a project! I see more pumpkins in my future!)

The pumpkin is made out of paper clay. He's decorated with a wooden star button that I painted, as well as a vintage toy tire that I have been hoarding. The base is a cardboard round with scrapbooking paper on it for some fun.

Thanks for looking!

42  Max's Bone Shoppe in Halloween Decor and Parties by SonjaBoo on: September 15, 2015 03:47:19 AM
I made this for KarenLouiseM in the vintage Halloween swap -- it's featuring her little dog Max as a bone shop owner. Grin

The box is a shadowbox that I've had for some time (waiting for the perfect project), and Max and all the bones are made out of paper clay. The rounded stage is just double-sided heavy scrapbook paper -- the dots are velvety.

A close up of Max with a cheesy grin and orange fluffy collar:

His pricing -- he's a very good sales dog:

This bone container was made from a Tropicana lid I believe -- I used some gold rub on it, and it worked out well!

Thanks for looking!

KarenLouiseM, I am so happy you liked your package! I had so much fun crafting for you! And I am so sorry you lost Max -- and I am glad that you thought this was a good tribute for him! (That's what I was going for. Cheesy)

This must be picture day! I finally have a photo of the incredible package that I received from kittykill! I a trying to upload more, but am having some issues with Craftster not liking my photos at the moment.

Check out the awesome shaker!! I love this so much -- and kittykill's stitching is epic. Also included was a sweet wallet that I am now obsessed with, and a paper coffin filled with candies that seem to have mysteriously disappeared already. Grin

Thanks so much kittykill! I love everything!

Also, this gallery is amazing. Seriously. Hats off to everyone!

44  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 36 (send by 9/21) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SonjaBoo on: August 31, 2015 06:49:54 PM
Gah! So many awesome things! I am late on getting my sample photo up -- this is a junk journal that is nearly done, and all will be very similar, though general shapes may vary. (When I say this is nearly done, I am just debating whether to put something additional on the cover or not. But for all intents and purposes, it's done.)

Here are some thumbnails of pages inside -- I did a lot of painting, stamping, sewing, altering, etc. I think there's a little something for everyone! I may also include a little bag of extras for you to add to your journal and to play around with. Each book will be on binder rings, so you can open it up and move things around or add things if you like. (Or take out papers to play with and add back to the book.)

Awesome cards everyone! This is an awesome gallery!

I am finally getting up photos of the awesome cards that I received! And it's only mid-April. I'm so sorry!
First off, from mariak -- from The Night Circus, one of my favorite books! Love this! Cheesy

Then I received two incredible cards from blupaisan. First, she chose my theme of cats and sent me a card of her adorable cat in the sink!

Then, she chose my matryoshka theme -- combined with the Golden Girls. This one is hilarious! Prepare for images!
First, we have Dorothy...

Then Blanche...

Then Rose...

And finally, Sophia!

How cute and hilarious is that? Thank you bluepaisan! I love both of these cards! Grin

46  Re: Prayer Flag Swap R5: New Year, New Inspiration: Gallery of Goodies in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: April 20, 2015 12:57:04 PM
No problem -- I feel awful that the first one didn't make it over there! I hope this one has better luck!

Updated:
Finally have a pic uploaded of the first flag that I sent to P_E_S_T. The new one is totally different and I like it better, but I enjoyed making this one too!

Maybe this one will show up one day! Ha!  Roll Eyes

I received from P_E_S_T, and it was so worth the wait! I can't begin to explain how delicate and gorgeous this really is -- it's a work of art.

A close-up of the detail:

Thank you so much, P_E_S_T! I am sorry that mine seems to be lost in the mail still -- I am working on a new one for you and will have it out this week. (Though to be honest, after receiving yours, I feel like I need a second attempt anyway! Grin)

Here is the flag that I made for myself -- the flower is supposed to be a lotus, and I used a stencil from Balzer Designs to make it. I have been doing yoga and am trying to improve, so "bloom" felt appropriate here.

Yay! I'm so glad that you like it. The little birds were fun to work on. Cheesy

And just so you can see the similarities... here is the absolutely gorgeous journal cover that artsycandice sent to me! Notice the batik and stitching -- we seemed to be on the same wavelength with this swap. Cheesy Also, I just love the colors and giant felt flower!

The back:

The inside -- featuring pockets and bookmark!

Thank you so much artsycandice -- this was an amazing swap!

Yay! I'm so glad you liked everything!  I was hoping you would like the necklace -- I was a little intimidated to make it at first, but once it got rolling it was really fun to work with. I'm thinking I might need one myself one day! Grin

I am finally getting up photos of the gorgeous necklace and goodies that you sent. (Sorry for the hold up, my computer has been difficult with photos this week!)

So first off, everyone -- prepare to be seriously jealous! Check out the gorgeous fabrics and stitching on this necklace! I am in love!

And here are some awesome extras that I am already hoarding:

stellato_escuro, thank you for such a beautiful swap! Grin This was a treat!

This is really a beautiful gallery. I love everyone's interpretations of words and use of colors and fabrics. Could you imagine if we had them all together somewhere? That might be too much awesomeness to handle!

jenleahlynn, I'm so glad the pinks didn't turn you off -- I am not a pink girl either, but something about this theme just drew the romantic out of me! (I would be happy to make you a new flag if you are just being polite. Grin)

alwaysinmyroom, I'm thrilled you liked your gold/silver flag! It was so fun to make -- luminous is a challenging word to work with. I loved it.

Wulf, I had that old map and knew I wanted to do something with it for your flag. It was fun to work with! I think I liked making this flag the most since it was so different from all the others. Very glad it has gone to a happy home.

Both are quite lovely!  I love the beaded center of the Calm flag and the painted image on the Believe flag!

Not sure if SonjaBoo is still having difficulties uploading from her camera, so I will post the GROW flag I made for her:

Thank you alwaysinmyroom -- I am so sorry I didn't get a pic up sooner! Here's the one that I took -- I absolutely adore this flag. (Look at those roots -- things grow in many ways, don't they?) alwaysinmyroom has outdone herself once again!
