1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Hey chumps and chumpettes, It's Bender! on: November 20, 2006 10:37:31 PM
Hey foxy mamma... wanna destroy all humans?
I just finished an amigurumi-esque Bender for my best friends Christmas present. I just kind of made up the pattern as I went along. His eyes and mouth are made of felt and he has pipe cleaners in his arms and legs (for bending purposes). And for all you Futurama fans, Bender has a removable Flexo disguise!

The only problem is that he keeps trying to bend my crochet hook....
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Heaven must be missing an angel on: November 02, 2006 08:36:37 PM
My friend Steve asked me to help him with his costume this year, so naturally, I just made the whole thing. He was a fallen angel a la Loki/Bartlebe from Dogma. He bought a chest plate for paint ball. I applied a faux finish to make it look like hammered metal. The wing stubs were constructed from cardboard, newspaper, and masking tape. I then applied plastered gauze to them. I painted them and glued the feathers on one at a time. A nice smattering of fake blood finished them off. In the bottom picture, you can see the wrist guards. I made them out of pleather sans pattern. I hope you all like it  Cheesy

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: So is there a reason why my owl decided he wanted to look like a planet? on: July 12, 2006 10:56:52 PM
How thin was it and how long did you cook it for? I had Sculpy bubble up on me once because I left it in the oven for too long.
4  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Chunky is Good on: July 01, 2006 03:55:27 PM
I would wire wrap them and use them as pendants. P.S. to everyone, I just bought some fused glass cabs from OOAK Divas Etsy shop. They are GORGEOUS! The pictures do not do them justice.

I just paid my rent AND paid for the hotel I'm staying at next month when I go on vacation, so I'm broke. I really wanted a new purse so I raided my craft cabinet for supplies and came up with this:

I got the little pins from the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn last year. You can't really tell in the picture, but the paint is black mixed with a little silver and metallic pigment powder. It's sort of a gun metal color.
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Smashing pumpkins tank on: May 15, 2006 11:18:50 PM
Your tank top makes me feel like I'm 16 again (thats when I saw the pumpkins in concert for the first time)
