I finished my first ever knitting project! My original seed stitch scarf is still in progress, but I can only knit 1 purl 1 for so long before boredom sets in, so I took a break to make something fun.
I used Diamante fingering yarn, 75% acrylic 25% poliamida (whatever the heck that is.) I love how it looks, but I think it's not as stretchy as the yarn used in the pattern, so I had to use my engineering skills to actually make it wearable. I just sewed the edges together loosely in sort of a shoelace pattern and left a loose end so that it can be tightened and loosened as needed. I tuck the extra end under the band after tightening it.
Here are some pics:
And the adjustable seam:
The intarsia isn't perfect, but I'm pleased for my first attempt
Has anybody had any luck making any of these that will fit over your hand yet not be baggy around your wrist? Is the trick to use yarn with the same composition given in the pattern?
