11  UNITED STATES / West Virginia / Re: Where's everybody from??? on: November 15, 2006 07:06:35 AM
Hello, I'm in Davis, WV. That's Tucker County, next to Canaan Valley Resort and Timberline Ski Resort, etc... I'm up on a mountain in the middle of nowhere, basically. About 20 miles from Oakland, MD. Anybody nearby?
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Controversial Smelly Bum Magnets on: November 15, 2006 05:55:33 AM
That is hilarious! I love it! I wonder what other smelly body parts we could come up with!
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Sophie's Winter Clothes on: November 15, 2006 05:51:14 AM
Oh my god, that has got to be one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. Sophie's a cute little bugger, too, even if she isn't
"bone-a-fied" (ha-ha).

Those slippers are amazing! I would love the pattern! They look very delicate and light. Good job!

How about a purse in the shape of an ugly doll?
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gifts For Grandmas? on: November 14, 2006 12:55:07 PM
How about a cookbook compiled with all the "family recipes"? It should be handwritten, of course, and maybe attach family pictures by whoever's recipe it is.

How about a "gift in a jar"? You know, like, a jar of dried soup mix or brownie mix or pancake mix or something like that. You just take the recipe, mix it in a jar and seal it, cut out a pretty cloth square for the top, tie some jute or twine or ribbon around it, and maybe attach a homemade card to it stating what it is and how to make it. Maybe assemble a few of these in a pretty basket with some raffia  all around.

20  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / A rustic mountain-woman shawl on: November 14, 2006 12:09:16 PM
Okay, so I finished weaving a very rustic shawl on my triloom. I used handspun/hand-dyed wool. This project took me about a week, out of which I worked about 30 minutes a day. I'll try and post a picture if I can figure out how to do it.
