1  Re: Spiral Boot Socks - IK Summer '07 in Knitalongs by discoprincess on: June 17, 2007 08:52:21 AM
I started these once and didn't like the wool I chose. They were too big. I have since restarted with Louet Gems SuperFine Merino in charcoal.

I'm at the end of the leg spiral on the first sock and I am really loving this yarn. Thanks to my LYS  Grin This pattern is pretty awesome and I'm excited to make these sock [I'll stay motivated! YAY]

edit - now with pic

2  McQueen cable coat knock off in Knitting: Completed Projects by discoprincess on: March 31, 2007 01:47:43 PM
When I saw this coat I wanted it...or should I say, wanted to knit it!

*Image removed due to policy - Please see link above*

Then the Vogue Knitting came out with a very similar pattern. And several months later I began but it took me 6 weeks to knit, which isn't bad. I knit it with Red Heart acrylic (CHEAP!) because I read that you can wash/dry it and it will come out soft. And its true!!! I changed the arms to look more like the one in the magazine, plus I wasn't a huge fan of the patterned arms. Today I got the buttons and took the pictures:

Its so cosy, I love it!
Thanks for looking Smiley

3  Re: Lady Eleanor Round 2? in Knitalongs by discoprincess on: January 27, 2007 04:04:22 PM
Here is my completed Lady. It rocks!

The length is equivalent to my arm span and I think it is 24 inches wide. I  used a wack of Noro Kochoran...i have bit left over too!

This is the most luxurious item I have ever made. It will be a great wrap! I plan to take it to the beach and get a shot then...I will post to show you why this is the Lady Vancouver!

It is pretty thick so I find that rolling the top over makes it easier to to toss over the shoulder. And I love the thick collar it makes.

i've completed 3 hanks of the noro I got.

It has a white haze to it from the angora that isn't showing in the image... its reminding me alot of the environment here in Vancouver...like a rainy winter day. The beach, the trees, the mountains and the ocean.

Cheesy I love how Noro works so well for entrelac!

5  Re: New Vogue in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by discoprincess on: December 09, 2006 03:56:07 PM
So I saw this big sweater coat in my Allure magazine and then I bought this vogue and was pleasantly surprised to see the pattern there. I am thinking of making it but with something inexpensive and durable (read: acrylic).

The arms are different in the magazine...but I can figure it out !

6  Re: "Fetching" from Knitty: Summer 2006 in Knitalongs by discoprincess on: October 08, 2006 09:44:32 AM
Here are some I made for a gift:

Knit with two strands of Elann.com Peruvian Baby Cashmere in Pewter.

I like the fiber I chose, but I don't know if its the best choice for cables. Still, they feel luxurious and look very classy.

If I make some for myself I will order 4 balls and extend the ends to cover more of my fingers, I do have very long fingers!

These were a really quick knit, started when the package arrived yesterday morning and finished at 11 pm last night. I don't know what I should do for the rest of my Cdn thankgiving weekend now!

7  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by discoprincess on: September 26, 2006 10:09:55 PM
Here is my second one. I aquired some Patons Cotton DK in Spring Blossom from a co worker looking to decrease her stash. I figured it would be a nice Clap, my other one is Alpaca and its so wonderful to wear but not exactly a fiber I want to wear everywhere.

The second image shows the colors more accurately.

10  Re: Ferragamo Knit Bag-along? in Knitalongs by discoprincess on: May 30, 2006 03:32:33 PM
Here's mine:

I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton. Super cheap cotton and then some handles I bought from Micheal's Craft Store. I lined it with some white cotton cloth I had in the stash too.

After the third row of triangles I kept going to row 8 then made a turning row and finished with Stock st for 1.5 inches. Then I constructed the bag.

I think this is super awesome for the beach and what not.

YAY!!! Thanks so much!
