81  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re:tattoo shoes on: March 29, 2004 01:37:58 AM
I am in love with those shoes!! Shoe-craftiness is the best kind!!

I painted some pumps before Valentines with "love" on one foot and "me" on the other with some hearts scattered around>> they got a lot of attention and were much cheaper than the ones I borrowed the idea from (Urban Outfitters was charging an insane amount so I went to Wal-Mart and bought mine for $8 and some easy-peazy painting later, my feet were stars!!)
82  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re:Band T-shirts on: March 29, 2004 01:34:37 AM
Shaeon> very good points!  I now agree that using the name of a band is not as harmless as I've thought.  I too have friends struggling to rock your socks and I know how hard it can be for them.

Yet, I still love the idea and creativity of the shirts... Perhaps there is middle ground in lyrics?  Since most people would never recognize them anyways and you would be showing your true love for the music? I dunno.. I might just be yammering here....

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago I did some musical stenciling of my own... I made a tote bag (brown faux suede) and stenciled (in pink) "I could teach you, but I'd have to charge" because I believe it is MY milkshake that brings all the boys to the yard!!  Unfortunately, I have yet to have the courage to carry the bag... I generally get a lot of questions about my stencils and I can be pretty shy when strangers keep talking to me... Perhaps to have "guilt free" stencils we can start a thread of keen ideas for shirts> here's a starter>>  "This shirt contains one marvelous person"  It may sound cheesy, but believe me everyone (even strangers) comment and you can't help feeling special in the shirt (I know from experience).

Soo much blabber outta me; I shouldn't be allowed to post this late at night.. or morning...
