Thanks a lot for all the advice, but as you can see .. i did it my way I've decided to settle with the neck line and weave in the cord front/back/front, under my chest and over my back:
I'm quite pleased with the result since my solution served three goals:
- the neckline looks ok like this - although i'll problably wear a small top underneath or at least a bra when going outside, i'm no hero really when it comes to being sexy in public
- the waist that actually was a little too wide/not shaped enough to my taste, is fine as well now.
- i made myself happy, since i've been seeing a lot of these tunic-like tops in the stores lately that i really wanted to buy but couldn't afford.
LAWebChick, the yarn i used is Schachenmayr Hair - it's really light and soft, and a bit more fuzzy when you buy it since this is re-used yarn from a frogged cardigan i never wore.
So, i'll have to do the steeking on some other project - i'm dying to cut my scissors through a piece of knitted fabric!
