11  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: "Hopeful" Knit-a-Long/Pattern Supports Breast Cancer Research on: September 02, 2005 06:05:33 PM
I ended up getting some 24" circs.  I figured, I was already out running errands today, plus it was a perfect excuse to get a new pair of Addis.  Smiley

I've cast on and have a few rows done, but before I get too far now I'm concerned about the size I chose.  I have a 33" bust, right inbetween XS and S.  The pattern says that it has "little to no ease," so should I be making an XS or S?  Any input from those who have gotten farther than me would be much appreciated.

Hey, my yarn is Lavish from Jannette as well! Great deal, huh?

Yep!  And it's really a nice color too.  What a steal!

Anyway, just wanted to get everyone's input before I start casting on... I only have a 26" circular, not a 24" as called for in the pattern. I'm making it in XS.   I'd like to avoid buying new needles (because I'm lazy, cheap, and impatient to start!), so do you think I can make do with 26"?

I'm in!  Just bought some Wool Cotton in "Lavish"- got it cheap here.  It'll arrive while I'm out of town on vacation, but once I get back, I'll get started!

I hadn't planned on starting this sweater till the distant future- my stash is already too big and I wanted to whittle it down- but now I feel the itch to start it...

I've already started scouring Ebay for some good deals on Rowan Wool Cotton- This store has some packs of discontinued colors for pretty cheap.

Sereknitty- I'll never look at stuff knitted with Fun Fur the same way again.   Cheesy

I kind of expected it to be in pdf though, so I'm not sure how best to save it.

My browser is Firefox, so I just went to "Print" and one of the options in the window that opened up was "save as pdf".  I'm not sure if  other browsers offer that option, though...

I'm looking forward to knitting this sweater!  And it'll force me to learn short rows, which I've been shying away from.  Smiley

Just bought this pattern:
Done by the same designer who did Tempting, Jenna Adorno.  It costs $5, and for every pattern purchased, the designer will donate $6 to breast cancer research.  Just wanted to give the heads-up to you guys!  Smiley

Or you could bring a container of dental floss; I read somewhere that the cutter works well on yarn.
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Cushy, bright, AND machine-washable yarn? on: May 30, 2005 02:24:53 PM
I'd like to make a squishysoft baby blanket in non-pastel and gender-neutral colors...  Right now, this (in green and white) has tickled my fancy, but the yarn it calls for (Berocco Plush) isn't machine washable.  Does anyone have any suggestions for yarn that's nice and cushy like Plush, and comes in bright, fun colors, and that's machine-washable?  Thanks!
