1  Tempting cables in Knitting: Completed Projects by another on: June 19, 2006 09:49:45 AM
I've been lurking around these boards for a few months now, but having just finished my first sweater, Knitty's Tempting II, I feel like popping in and showing off. Grin

Here it is laying flat, looking rather deceptively long:

And here being worn, behaving shorter than it should:

I didn't much fancy the idea of attaching a buckle to the top like in the original pattern, so I decided to attach it to a cable instead, using short rows to shape the angle between cable and band. This was my first time attempting short rows, so it's a bit messy, but it looks alright in this particular photo. XD

Aaaand that's it! Thanks for looking. :3

2  Re: Koala - bred in captivity in Sweden! in Knitting: Completed Projects by another on: June 17, 2006 04:36:11 PM
This looks exactly like the Jean Greenhowe pattern from her Knitted Animals booklet.  Thanks so much for the pattern link!

You're right -- I have that booklet:

These toys were always my favourites; I recognised the koala immediately, even though it's been about six years since I knitted anything from the book. Grin
