3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: bunny necklace on: October 12, 2004 06:43:33 PM
Absolutely gorgeous, BUT... I like the idea of them not fitting together exactly. It goes with the creepiness of the bunnies and defeats the purpose of the necklace. And thats a good thing.

Those are so cute! Long live the eighties!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Lucky Chinese Star Bracelet - Question on: August 15, 2004 04:29:43 PM
I wonder if anyone here knows about those Lucky Chinese Star folding kits you can get in Chinatown (well, at least the one in Montreal. I don't know if there are 'chinatowns' everywhere). They are these small packages of stripa of shiny paper with instructions to fold the paper into small, 3-d, supposedly 'lucky' stars. Well, I've been making quite a few of them, and I've been wondering how I could thread them onto a bracelet.

My problem is this: Once you pop the papers into a 3-d star shape, the inside is completely hollow. I'm not sure how I could make the stars firmer and more resistant so I could be able to have them, well, er, not be crushed when I wear the bracelet. I'm totally at a loss when I have to pick up any kind of sealant or glue at a hardware store, so absolutely ANY advice would be appreciated.

I'd LOVE to make these but I am exceedingly paranoid: Do they rub against your skin or cause you rashes? I have sensitive skin. Smiley
