1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Question about Dresses on: March 12, 2006 10:33:51 AM
Okay, I have a question for all you lovely people.

This spring/summer I made the "I Am Going To Wear Dresses" vow, and now I want to start sewing them! However, I have no idea where to start. I'm sure some of you have been faced with a situation like this before, where you'll see things you like on Craftster, but then you won't know if the style will suit your larger-than-normal frame.

So, my question #1 is: Are there any styles of summer dresses that look particularily flattering on larger women? Any things that I should avoid? I'm also curious about the classic circle-skirt-plus-tube-top-and-straps dress. How does it look on a larger body?

Thanks in advance for any help.  Smiley
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Good/Bad Faeries on: March 04, 2006 10:31:31 AM

My idea is based off of one of my favourite Brian Froud books, Good/Bad Faeries.

So far, my idea's pretty open-ended. I really thought that it would be neat to create something that showed both sides of Faerie, the dark and the light, because they're both equally remarkable.

I was thinking it could be one craft that showed both sides, or perhaps two crafts, one for good, one for bad.

Anyone interested/any other ideas?
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Christmas present for someone who doesn't want a present? on: October 30, 2005 06:49:25 PM
Okay, so my best friend is boycotting Christmas this year. She thinks it's become much to commercial, so she's still going to partake in the dinner, and Christmasy Activities, but no presents.

I still want to give her something though.  Cheesy So, I said to myself, "She's trying to get the meaning of Christmas (not religious, but like...family) back, so I need to do something for her that shows I care." I figured a homemade present would be the perfect thing.

For her 15th Birthday, I made her a little booklet entitled 15 Reasons Why You Are Special. I'd like to make something pretty different from that.

Any ideas?
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Wheelchair? on: October 28, 2005 09:07:26 PM
Hey, everyone. Woohoo, I believe this is my first post.

Okay, here's the story. I broke my ankle a while back, and I must go out for Halloween, regardless. So, I have access to a wheelchair, and access to a friend that will push me (you know you have good friends when...), so now I need a Super Cool Wheelchair Friendly costume. It'd be cool to somehow incorporate the wheelchair into the costume.

Any ideas?
