OK, here's the link to marshall fields...but their picture is NOTHING like the dress.

http://www.fields.com/gifts/OnlineShopping/FL?DSP=4&PCR=7:101086:102507:104368:104375:104379&IID=1017996&c=1

And here's a (not terribly good) picture i took of the beading on the top (click to see it bigger)...

I'll take better pictures of it on me when i get the chance...it's practically impossible to get on and off (which is a feature my parents like, lol!)

Again, Note to anyone who didnt read my previous post...I DID NOT make this dress! ...but i love it like it was my own! Smiley

I might send Mel the mutant turtle instead (http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreasee/79211750/in/set-1640289/), she could probably use some cheering up.

i LOVE Mel, even with two tails!!  I'm sending a turtle...altho i didnt make him.

Meet Tortue:

(wow, i walked into my completely dark room - my sister's asleep in there - went to my bed and took this picture...perfectly centered...how extremely lucky!)

137  Duct Tape Dress for Little Sister! *pic heavyish* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Haylie on: March 05, 2006 06:09:51 PM
At my sister's middle school theyre having "duct tape day"  (How awesome is that?!) so we went out today and bought some lovely colored duck tape and spent a few hours to make this....

(click on pix to see bigger)

Step 1: Fabric Base...just cut out 4 pieces and taped it together

Step 2: Tape like crazy...top first, then sleeves (school dress code says shoulders must be covered!) then skirt.  (I've got a zipper up the back, but it's pulling out from in between in tape every time we zip it...i'll have to sew it in)

Step 3: Decoration!

138  Re: 'Relationship Journal' in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by Haylie on: February 28, 2006 08:20:40 PM
This isnt for a relationship journal, but i made this cover for a little book i made the boy for valentines day (click to see it bigger):

It's just a printed paper version of a picture i took of the two of us. I used scrapbooking tape to attach it to the fabric and then sewed it on in the corners (THROUGH the cardboard of the cover! Wasnt easy!)

Ok, so i'm planning on making my prom dress, been playing with the design for a while...but here's the thing...i hate patterns.  And i want asymmetrical boning in the bodice ....cant seem to find a picture online, so i sketched it in paint:

So here's the question: i'm no master seamstress..would i be completely insane to try to make something like this with no pattern? I have my (store-bought) prom dress from a few years ago that is similar in parts, so i can base parts off that.
