I have bought craft felt from both Winmil Fabrics (which someone already mentioned) or Windsor Button - which is by the red, green, orange and silver bus line.

Here's my contribution.  It was a privilege to be amongst such inspiring work.  Reminds me I've got to set down my knitting and pick up my embroidery hoop!

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Gift Tags a.k.a Luggage Tags on: October 10, 2007 01:47:57 PM
These are great.  I had an idea to do an embroidered tag for my friend did a search on luggage tags and voila this thread comes up.  You must have just added the tutorial.  This is exactly what I had in mind.

I have two quick kinda dumb questions....first what kind of plastic did you use? Second to attach them to the suitcase do you just slip the tag through the strap (and around the suitcase handle).

Thank you so much for the tutorial, I truly appreciate it!

After all that, it really did turn out great.  I love the colors!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Beaded knit necklace on: August 20, 2007 09:09:35 AM
I made this using the "Harry Winston Has Nothing On Me" pattern from Lily Chin's book "Knit and Crochet with Beads".  The original pattern called for it be be knit with silk on 000 size needles with teeny beads but I used what I had on hand and did mine with crochet cotton, size 6 seed beads and US 1 needles.  I really love the way it turned out.  Thanks for looking!

Oops, I forgot to say that it's a pattern from knitty.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A Little Nautie Love on: August 16, 2007 09:14:24 AM
I made the aqua/grey nautie last week but he looked a bit lonely so I just had to make him a friend.

Last night, I caught them touching tentacles on the couch and my inner paparazzo made me snap a pic.

That hat is great.  I am really impressed that you designed it yourself.

And yes, as someone in Boston I can say your sister will definitely need that hat...and a scarf... and mittens and many, many layers....
