3114  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you stay motivated to finish a project? on: March 08, 2006 06:40:15 AM
I stay motivated by:
1. The thought of the finished object and how nice it will be.
2. The fact that I don't allow myself to start a new crochet project before this one is finished. And of course I have a great new project waiting all the time.
3. The thought that all this hard work is only worth something after the object is finished.
4. The fact that I actually like the repetitive work. It is calming, it is satisfying, it reminds me that I'm skillfull.

I needed a stand for my garden bowling ball. I haven't grouted yet. Maybe today.

Where did you get all those flat marbles? I so live in the wrong country, craft supplies wise. If I were able to find some of those, and I haven't, they would cost a fortune.

But on topic: nice container/stand thingy!

3117  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted Purse on: March 08, 2006 06:25:07 AM
That's a very cute bag.
I love the colors of the yarn and the shape of the bag.
On handle might work, if the opening of the bag is wide enough.
Did you line the bag?

3119  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Lining Purse Help on: March 07, 2006 06:54:55 AM
Of course it depends on the yarn and the fabric you use, but I sew lining in knitted/crocheted bags and it you can hardly see the stitches. The best thing is to use two different colors thread on your sewing machine. Sew from the inside and use the color of your lining fabric for the top thread and a color matching your yarn for the spool thread.
