Great job!! I saw these on etsy from necklush and loved them immediately but really who wants to pay $40+ for a scarf??
I bought several kinds of jersey fabric from my local fabric store and decided to make my own. (I know it's supposed to be environmentally friendly but I wanted to be able to have one that was longer and that just won't happen with a t-shirt so, yeah.)
I used fabric that was 1.5-2 metres long, and cut it into 3/4" strips. I found the thinner, cheaper jersey fabric worked the best especially when you pull it tight for it to curl in on itself. Then after all of my strips were cut, I knotted the ends then looped each one over a hanger so it wouldn't get tangled on itself. I then cut a strip of fabric about 6" long and 4" wide and wrapped it over all of the knots then when I came to the end of the strip I tucked the side edges under and voila! Your own version of a necklush scarf! The ones I made go past my waist, that way I can loop it several times around my neck so it's nice and full. I'll try to get a couple of pics and post the final product
