1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: crochet + knitting mix breed???? haha on: April 20, 2008 06:21:22 AM
I used crochet for my razor cami (pattern available online by Katie from allmystars). I didn't want a strappy top I couldn't wear to work and knitting small cap sleeves seemed too difficult. Crochet is so much easier! So I just took a crochet pattern I had and added this to the top part and a random pattern for the bottom (the knit ribbing at the bottom didn't look good so I had to cut it off).

This pattern can be added to any knit tube so I've added the pattern (chart!!!) for you  Grin

Pandasrock03 - I didn't even notice but yes, my straps have the same pattern. Cheesy Except I used a single crochet to fasten the double crochet and 3 ch part when on the way back and making the second half, the left side, of the strap.

(Looking at the pattern - I replaced the horizontal double crochet with a single crochet)

Pretty simple blue crochet top with 3.5mm hook, Novita Tahiti - ribbony cotton yarn. Body consists of 10 motifs. (sorry about the painful looking sunburn)

Different cotton threads in really bright colors, 1.5mm hook, simple shell stitch pattern instead of the usual double crochet. Probably won't crochet a matching bikini bottom - it might sag in a horrific way Huh

In case you don't know how to crochet a regular boob cup here's a random tutorial from my computer, I've gathered tons from all over the web Grin It's really important to keep trying the cup on for size to get a good fit. Make one at a time so the first one will be an example for you.
NB! I didn't make this green top nor the tutorial.

The pink edge and the metallic buttons really do make them look a bit more sophisticated, just lovely! I'm sure she looks really cute with them!! Cheesy

I'm guessing we both used double crochetGrin Very easy and you'll finish your project a lot faster than using single crochet which would be denser and a bit sturdier.
