Thanks everyone!! Just having people respond and share their thoughts is such a help.
rainylakechick -- I think cupcakes is definitely the way to go, too. The fruit dip looks yummy and easy, two things that are quickly becoming priorities. As for food running out, I catered my graduation party a few years ago and half of the food was left over, so I am wondering about the proper amount. "Serves 10-12" seems to have different meanings to different people.
caradee -- The bride had the list of all female invitees pre-prepared for me, but personally I think a couples shower could be a lot of fun. I looove the vintage tea party idea, but I don't think that's the bride's (resisting pun....) thing. As for themes, I am not even sure how they are supposed to be executed. What does one do with such a thing? My mom asked me what the "motif" was, and I said "wedding shower."
hawkeyes_girl -- I have had such luck finding favors at Michael's on clearance, but if I can find some bulk chocolates I am totally going to add that to the bunch. So far I've got 30 adorable felt bags that I am going to stitch witch some hearts on to and 30 glittery tea light candles in the the bride's wedding colors -- all for six dollars total.
Smarier -- Those cakes are too adorable. Good luck with them, and everything! Please let us know how it goes...
