I don't mind a reminder; in fact, I would love one. Smiley

Also, I received an absolutely amazing package from Jexxican, who is an awesome swap partner! <3 I got 2 skeins of yarn, and oh so many stamps! Cheesy

Yummy yarn!

Hand carved stamps <3

Matryoska stamp set (I almost cried tears of joy when I saw these).

Yarn love stamp (which I totally don't mind having 2 of).

Paisley stamp set!

All of the stamps I received.

Jessie, you are made of win. I love everything. <3

I just received an awesome package from the lovely Koreena! Not one... Not two... Not even three, but four hand-carved stamps! She made me every knitting related stamp I had in my Pinterest, and from looking at them you'd never imagine this was the first time she hand carved stamps.

Of course, pics! Cheesy

Thanks, Koreena! Those stamps are so amazing, and I hope to swap with you again in the future. Cheesy

4  Re: First handspun yarn in Spinning: Completed Projects by lillyanka on: January 17, 2013 10:41:12 PM
So, I have plied for the first time in my life:

Looks like a bulky yarn, which is what I thought I'd get. Smiley

I'll set the twist tomorrow, and then probably knit a cowl for my daughter. I didn't get much yardage, but it should be enough for a tiny 6 year old neck. Cheesy

5  First handspun yarn in Spinning: Completed Projects by lillyanka on: January 15, 2013 10:08:47 PM
So, I just finished spinning my first single:

It's sort of thick-and-thin (still haven't gotten the hang of drafting evenly Sad ), but oh well. I'm thinking of plying it with this other single I'm spinning now:

(That one's even thicker-and-thinner, I think)

Do they look okay for a total n00b? (I know the pics are kinda iffy, but it's the best my iphone could do).

The white was spun on a bottom-whorl spindle, and the purple/pink one is being spun on a top-whorl spindle. Right now, I'm liking the bottom whorl better: it doesn't wobble as much, and the top-whorl doesn't have a notch so I'm having a hard time getting the yarn to stay where I want it. Sad I'm considering making a notch on the top whorl, but I'm afraid I'll ruin my pretty spindle. Hee hee.

I was inspired to give spinning another try (the first one, a few years ago, failed miserably) thanks to the spinning tutorial in this forum. Smiley I only wish the class had gone on to plying! Smiley

6  Umbilical cord hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by lillyanka on: January 12, 2013 10:53:08 AM
I made this hat for a swap. Cheesy It's the Umbilical cord hat from Stitch 'n Bitch, only I sewed the i-cord on the top to look like a heart.

7  Re: Making Crochet Hooks from Chopsticks*Now with makeshift instructions on page 3* in Crochet: Completed Projects by lillyanka on: July 31, 2008 10:31:54 AM
I just want to brag about the hook my mom made me!! I started making knitting needles, but since both my mom and I crochet, we wanted to make wooden hooks. and yesterday when I dropped by her place she had this little treat for me!

It's a US 10. (My mom's name --and mine as well-- is Lilliana. So she wrote "Lilly" on the hook with a woodburner. That's like her personal logo.  Wink )

She also Drew a 6-legged spider with a strand of thread.

Can you tell I'm proud of my mommy?  Grin

Reviving this thread to show you guys what my mom and I made!!

The pics are horrible, but I'm proud of my needles! I shaped them and then my mom made the flowers with a woodburner. They're US 10.  Cheesy
