mkohut- Dave (boyfriend) theorized that perhaps she thought he looked like a guy who likes tools (cause he does) and that I looked like a girl who is not interested in tools since I was wearing a frilly skirt and pink heels. Though I do happen to be a gal who's interests lie in weilding a hammer whilst wearing a dress.

Also, I would think it would be hard to tell that the tools were not for me since I was lovingly clutching the dapping set while I waited in the check out line.

amberbrown- The strangest thing was that the comment came from a girl who worked in the store. I just figured anyone who worked there would be excited about an employee discount!

meanderingartist- Whenever one of us gets a new piece of equipment the other gets tool envy. I am good at sharing... though hands off my brass brush!

tatobuggy- A drill press for Valentine's Day! Aw! The romance!

My roommate's dream is to buy a pickup truck and airbrush a chasing hammer and a torch on it.

Viva la crafters, handypersons, and makers no matter their genetic nuts and bolts!

So on Tuesday my boyfriend arrives for our date and asks me if I want to check out the new hardware store. (He knows how to woo me with new tools). We skip about the aisles like kids in a candy shop and I happily bring my fabulous new dapping set up to the register. As I'm struggling to shove my unneccesarily huge wallet back into my overstuffed purse, my boyfriend grabs my new purchase so we can get out of the way.

The girl at the register looks right at him and says: "Enjoy your new tools. We all know they're for you anyway." We both looked at her like she was the craziest person alive. I turned to him and said, "Thank you big man for carrying my bag." He replied with "You're welcome, little lady. Can we go to Michaels now? I want to buy some supplies."

Girls like tools!

Girls also like guys who want to go to Michaels...
