Here are a couple sock animals I have recently tried (now that I have mastered monkeys). Bunnies, dogs and teddy bears.

I agree with Margarita Miss I too had never made handbags until I joined this craftalong - it has been great fun to challenge myself to try different types of handbags.  So this month I have recycled secondhand t-shirts into Tee-Totes
and wristlets.  Hope you like them.

Here are my two monkeys the pink on is Sherbert for my niece and the black and red one is for my nephew.  He is a huge Calgary Flames Hockey fan so I am naming him Jerome after his favorite player.  Hope you like them.

Here is a pic of the wristlet/pouch I was talking about

I will be putting a zipper in the top -- not in yet until I decide to line it or not.

This is my Feb hand bag.  My own design using a record album cover.  With many sleepless nights trying to put it together so it all works coupled with hammering my thumb while putting the grommets in.  I think my experiment turned out quite well.   I welcome your comments.

inside pocket

I think I will post it on etsy and see if I get any takers.

9  Scrap Yarn Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by Trendy Wendy on: January 22, 2006 08:27:56 PM
Since I have gotten tired of knitting scarves and wraps I decided to try hats.  This is my first one I made
out of layers of scrap yarn.  Its a little big will have to try it with smaller needles next time.   Let me know what you think.

I just finished my January purse.  This is my very first time at sewing a purse.  I used a  McCalls pattern because I wasn't adventurous enough to design my own.  A few things I would do different - I would definitely use iron on interfacing instead of the sew in it was loose and then it ripped.  And the instructions on how to the lining were hard to follow so I did my own thing - sorry no picture of the lining.  But all in all I am happy with my first attempt.

Any comments or tips on sewing handbags and putting in linings are very welcome.
