31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / copper wire cat with button eyes on: October 19, 2008 08:10:01 PM
he's not jewelry, but maybe he's a trinket?  wasn't sure where to put it, but i thought he was cute...

i made him out of copper electrical wire and gave him button eyes, as you can see.  simple, but pleasing to me because i started with nothing and something came out in the end.  Smiley
32  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / hamster happening... on: October 19, 2008 08:03:15 PM

i made this little guy with some variagated nashua wool and some weird hairy red heart something or other i had around--he's probably a little more calico than the average hamster, but i like his beady little bead eyes and his cute little felt ears...
33  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / crochet robot...with leiderhosen on: October 08, 2008 04:48:55 PM
i wanted to take a little more time with this guy to improve his features, but instead i decided he needed leiderhosen...because, really--who doesn't look better in leiderhosen?

i would say it's not really as wonky as it looks in the back, but that would be a lie...

still, i think he's pretty cute, and i thought the leiderhosen a stroke of genius.  Wink
34  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / fluttery (goofy?) tree applique tshirt on: September 21, 2008 01:52:57 PM

i'd been thinking about this shirt for a while, but i just got around to making my trial run--on a fairly beat down and probably spotten tshirt from target, but i think it's got potential.

the trunk has some double-sided interfacing, with a little extra zig-zag for texture--man, that wonder-under jacks your needle.  i guess i should have paid attention when it said not to sew through it!--and the leaves are die-cut and just tacked with a cross in the middle.  i got it wet and put it in the dryer and i'm thinking they'll curl up cute, but they might just curl up ugly...in any case, it's just a trial run.
what do you think?  cute or too much?  i'm pondering a bird or squirrel or gnome addition, but i haven't gotten that far yet...
35  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / skull pillow front, with remote pocket on: July 21, 2008 11:09:44 AM

i was getting all skully this week, i guess...not that that's unusual.  this i was originally going to make into a messenger bag, but the proportions didn't please, so it's a pillow front, instead...and the canvas on the front is a pocket for the remotes!  i'm interested to see how the unfinished canvas edges fray out...you can see a little additional fray on the jaw of the skull that i got started...it should fray back to the zig-zag.
36  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / skull pursely messenger on: July 21, 2008 11:06:29 AM

a sort of big purse or small messenger bag...i like how the front came out with the applique and sort of planned messiness (well, other than that lower corner.  that wasn't really planned.  Tongue ) though the colors ended up a little more camo than i would have liked.
37  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skull applique tshirt on: July 21, 2008 11:03:15 AM

i'm happy with how this came out--it's snug (my dressform is actually a wee bit bigger than me, so it's pretty perfect on me--at least size-wise!), but it doesn't pull the skull out of shape, which was an issue for some of my other little attempts...double-sided fusible underneath and then variagated embroidery floss around the edge for security and a little extra color...
38  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / sewing--cats are so helpful! on: July 18, 2008 10:25:39 PM
this doesn't really qualify as "art", but i thought little napoleon being involved in my latest project was something you might all appreciate:

and, just for fun:

39  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / big stuffed owls on: May 04, 2008 04:45:03 PM
i made this guy
and one like him as birthday gifts back in december, for myself and a friend.  this weekend another pal stopped by, saw mine and got demanding...hence i spent the last day making three new owls...and aren't they cute as pie?

this is my favorite of the new ones:

they've all got slightly different wings and such, depending on what amount of fabric i had and how it all went together.  i put beans and rice in the wings and bottom, for ballast...and emergency rations, when the big one comes.  Wink
40  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / button skull purse on: April 29, 2008 06:41:03 PM

the purse is nothing fancy, but i do love this button skull.  i think the outline is a little better than the shirt i made first...here's a little closer picture of the skull:

and here (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=234421.msg2563258#msg2563258) is the original tshirt.
