I love all the background detail you dug up on this critter, and you did an amazing job of crafting it.  Great stuff!  Cheesy

I started stitching!  Cheesy  It's gonna take a while, with ALL the French knots!  Also, although I ordered an 8" hoop, they sent me a 9" hoop!  Shocked  So I'm going to jolly well fill it, oh yes.  Smiley

That's so cool, Patraw!  I do love your critters!  Cheesy

Ha, that's awesome!  I remember reading something years ago in a magazine about spinning yarn from dog hair (Golden Retriever is lovely and silky, apparently, and Jack Russel is rather scratchy!), but never saw someone actually do it before.

I don't think the one I got is especially grand - it's from Amazon, it came with three different hoops and it's one you tuck under your leg and sit on.  I considered getting the one with only one hoop, but then decided it might be useful to have more than one project on the go, or use the smaller hoops for smaller things (and it seemed better value than buying more hoops later because you have to buy the special ones with the plastic widget).

Oh that's awesome, I can't wait to see how it turns out!  Cheesy

The hoops and embroidery stand I ordered arrived today so I can at least start hooping up my fabric - already got a load of floss and beads earmarked - it's hopefully going to be a good stash buster of a project.  Smiley  I felt a bit flash ordering an actual hoop stand, but I've been wanting to do more embroidery for a while and the thing holding me back has been a lack of sensible ways to frame up my fabric and then hold the work as I'm doing it (short of growing a third arm, lol!).  I'm hoping I'll be able to motor on with some ideas now.  Smiley

I fake-joined this swap because work just went completely bonkers at me and ate all my life (and I'm a bit uncertain about my embroidery skills), but I'm having fun lurking and seeing what people are up to.  Smiley  Can't wait to see what you do with this soluble printable stuff!  Cheesy

Blah, I hope I don't have to request an extension for my hoopla.  I got all my floss and beads together but the hoop hasn't arrived yet (maybe tomorrow?) and work are trying to kill me with Science!(TM).  :s

Ouch!  Those mandolin things always make me cringe a lil even when I'm watching someone else use one - they're wicked-sharp!

I hadn't heard of metal-fibre gloves for rotary cutting before - probably a really good idea if you have a lot to do in one go, slips are easy to make if there's a chance of zoning out while doing something.
